  1. I think it has been more enjoyable watching the Cards creep up behind the Cubs and then experience their death spiral before our very eyes. Good times.
  2. Finally, a soft tossing lefty that the Cubs can hit.
  3. They need to make Mulder pay here. He's got nothing.
  4. The Padres scare me. I like their chances against any other club.
  5. Are you kidding? Indy has some of the worst fans in the country. Before Peyton, they begged for fans to go to Colts games. The pacers don't draw. There is no way they could support a MLB team with cincy so close. Las Vegas is the most logical place for a baseball team. They'd sell 2.5 million tickets annually, no doubt. I don't support the notion that Indianapolis has terrible fans (I can name a lot of places that are worse) but I do agree that Indianapolis could not support a MLB team. There aren't enough baseball fans, and the ones that are here are committed to the Cubs, Reds, and Cardinals. Not enough would switch to make it worth it. I wouldn't switch but I would definitely hit every Cubs series. I go to Indians games now and enjoy seeing former and future MLBer's. I would definitely frequent an MLB team to watch other quality MLBer's pass through town. It really may not work in Indy but I think it's definitely more feasible now than ever before.
  6. Yes, please.
  7. There's something highly embarrassing hitting triple digits.....also that Eamus Catuli sign would need one more digit. I'm not saying that it's not embarrassing but I'm not ashamed to be a fan. Yeah, the lows suck pretty bad but the highs are definitely worth it. Please explain to me these highs you talk about? Anytime they make the playoffs. 84, 89, 98, 03 all were fun experiences. 2003 may have ended painfully but that was one fun ride.
  8. At this point, I would gladly trade schedules with the Brewers. I can't imagine the Cubs beating any of those three teams more than once in a series. I'll be thoroughly shocked if the Cubs are more than about 1 game over .500 for the remaining stretch. I too. I fear a repeat of the close of 2004, the Cubs will have chance after chance to seize the NL Central (WC in 2004) but, we fail to do so. I believe we are going to witness several 1 run extra inning loses, games in which the the Cubs grossly out hit and, save for a pitch or two, out pitch the opposition. We'll see things like the Cubs leaving 20+ plus men on base, Lee and Ramirez GIDP's with the bases loaded, failing to score a run with a runner on third and no outs, etc. The real kicker is that these failings won't occur because the opposition made the perfect pitch, no, they'll occur because Lee and Ramirez just missed hanging sliders or high BP fastballs. The writing is on the wall. After last night's loss, I took all my Cubs stuff down here at work. I am tired of hearing people laugh about the Cubs. I will quietly cheer if they get into the playoffs....though, I have to admit, I'm pretty much preparing for the inevitable melt down. Ken So you're a closet Cubs fan? They haven't won a World Series in almost 100 years. Why is one more too much of an embarassment for you? Never been a closet fan. I'm just sick of having to explain to everyone why I'm a Cub fan. And to make things worse, I have to come in on Monday after the Bears opening loss after bragging they would 12 or maybe 13 games this year. Sunday was a double whammy -- Cubs get knocked out of first and the Bear's get their butts kicked. Maybe I should be a little more humble when it comes to my Chicago teams, especially when it comes to the Cubs. I guess that's the price you pay for bragging. I leave that stuff for bandwagon Yankees fans.

  11. Unfortunately Atlanta and St. Louis will probably be out of contention by the time they meet up with Milwaukee. So they may not be on top of their game. I think the hardest stretch will be the final four against SD. They will most likely will still be fighting for the division and/or WC.
  12. If it wasn't for work I'd have my butt planted in the RF bleachers, heckling the crap out of Mr.Ankiel tomorrow.
  13. I'm glad those days are over for the Colts. Here's to a repeat!
  14. I enjoyed Ram's half-assed wave home and get down signal. LOL
  15. sample size Okay, I'll take him until he cools off.
