  1. Oh, for a wild one here.
  2. Somebody had to carry the torch that Pokey left behind.
  3. Is he there? I thought I read he wasn't joining the Brewers until tomorrow. Wasn't sure. Kind of why I posed the question.
  4. Well, they didn't lose. There is still hope.
  5. Do they see Linebrink in the 10th?
  6. I was just thinking the same thing.
  7. i wouldn't count on the reds doing anything good, with the season they've had What was that you were saying?
  8. I remember Stone and Chip mocking the "he gawn" call just a few years ago. This could be very interesting.
  9. If that turns out to be the case I don't think he or us would have a problem with that.
  10. utility player, utility player, 5th starter, inconsistent guy with #2/3 talent, 5th outfielder, inconsistent pitcher with good arm who's better suited for the bullpen And yet all of them have contributed quite nicely to the hottest team in baseball right now.
  11. fourth Why?
  12. It looks like somebody might be a little nervous tonight.
  13. I was a latchkey kid and when I watched Cubs games after school I felt like I was watching them with Harry. It was fun to have somebody that got just as excited as I did during the game. I like Len but hearing him call a walkoff win for the Cubs is a far cry from the way Harry would do it. http://www.powermaxconsulting.com/Harry%20-%20Play%20By%20Play.mp3
  14. I don't see a big problem with it. If Sammy can be productive versus left handed pitching and can be had for a reasonable deal I see nothing negative about it. I think Sammy would love to make that sprint out to RF once again for the Cubbies, especially on a team that very well could see the post season. McDonough is probably just as interested and may be able to influence Hendry if there is a personal rift there.
  15. I think he should have used Pujols to hit for Hudson. Then in the event of a tie he could have moved Snachez to second and let Albie play 3rd. Or, if he used him to hit for Rowand then move Sorianop to CF and stick Pujols in LF. However, if Pujols came to bat in the ninth I liked the chances of the game ending right there.
  16. He should have dropped the appeal prior to the game. Then he could miss the next four and one after the break. Tkae all of that time to get back on track. Then the Cubs would have a fresh DLEe and no suspension to worry about for the second half.
  17. If he wins the final all star vote I assume that he will be unable to participate?
  18. My guess is that he wasn't even on the mic. He was probably just standing up yelling at the field paying no attention to the broadcast. I probably would have done the same thing.
  19. I was stunned to find out he was only 38. Definitely a great Cub. RIP Shooter.
  20. Barrett is a free agent after '07. He may not even be back in San Diego next year.
  21. I think it could also be possible that Lee's nerves are very thin these days. The health troubles with his daughter could really be eating him up inside. Pile on the losing and the lack of power and he may just be ready to pull his hair out.
