  1. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2348480 3/20 Terrible, terrible deal. At least he's signed for more than Neifi
  2. He's going to be 33 most of this year. Last year was actually one of his best years. Uninteresting fact: Isringhausen and Prior have the same b-day (in different years, obviously)
  3. Change Furcal to Giles and I agree. Furcal...meh. Would've been spending way too much money for a player that wouldn't have had a huge impact.
  4. Has Prior had any prolonged stretch (like more than a month) where he pitched like he did in 03? Prior before he got hurt(aka, hit with a line drive) at the end of May last year: 9 GS, 58.1 IP, 2.93 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 9.57 K/9, 3.44 K/BB Those are great numbers but still a little below what he did in 03. Oh my god, he's not putting up Cy Young numbers every year. BUST!! Seriously, I think he's going to be very good this season, but who knows. I still like Prior, but his potential is a guy who puts up Cy Young numbers every year. I don't think that can be disputed, so that would make Olney's statement valid. He's had 3 (not counting 02 when he came up middle of the season) chances at a full season. One of which he almost won the CY. He's 25 for most of this season. He's got plently of time to win a few CYs.

  6. I love Hawkins. He got us jerome, and I sure hope we keep him around. Maybe aardsma can figure it out too.

    Closers

Valverde put up very good numbers last year. I agree with the rest of the post though.
  8. That's my point. Sometimes is's just best to respond with a "no comment." LMAO, what's even better is that Williams told Ozzie to shut his hole after the Nomar/ARod rant b/c stuff like that gave the organization a bad name. Hypocrite. Ozzie should call him on being a hypocrite. Otherwise he's a hypocrite for not speaking out in public about people being hypocrites.
  9. Right now, Williams is a much better option than Hill.
  10. Yeah, I like his pictures. I've used them on projects before and for a few of my backgrounds.
  11. The better rbi guy is probably going to be the guy with the higher SLP. It has an affect, but it's not great. A. Jones out-RBI'd Lee last year because of opportunities, and not a lot else.
  12. There is no such thing as a better "RBI" guy, it depends on which one gets more chances. Ramirez also edges Lee by 1 pt in career batting average, but has batted 318 and 302 in the last two years. Lee went 335 and 278. It doesn't really matter. Go with Lee and Ramirez to start the year, though.
  13. Wouldn't hurt if a couple did... If this was there, my bad. It's not. But you should go read the topic about the Brewers near the top in rivalries to understand.
  14. Maybe he could resign from baseball.
  15. Yeah, he was here. He also had problems giving and receiving signs.

  17. Perhaps off topic, but why so much confidence in Sheets or Wood vs. Rolen? I personally don't have a lot of confidence in either Rolen or Aramis playing 150 games this year. I want David Wright. :( Or Miggy Cabrera :(
  18. Probably, you're claiming a good SS is better than the best player in the game today.
  19. Neifi shouldn't be starting.
  20. Giambi deserved it that over Thomas that year.
  21. That had very little to do with it. By the time Corey was called back up, there was no reason not to play him, see if he could figure something out. He didn't, obviously, but that didn't matter. It might have something to do with Prior and Wood missing significant time, Neifi getting 500 PAs (most of which came out of the 1 or 2 spot), Dusty Baker being the manager of the team, the bullpen struggling most of the year, and having a weak OF in general.
  22. I think the pictures must have been taken on different days. He's fairly clean shaven with Dusty, but has a little beard thing. With Mabry, he's justy hairy. Nothing extra on his chin. Hmm...didn't notice that.
  23. Walker does grow hair damn fast...look at the first pic (with Dusty) and then the second pic (with Mabry and someone else). Crazy.
  24. Johnny Damon is crazy in the head, Lee seems much more down-to-earth than other players.
