  1. 8 No, it was 9. Pierre on two, Hairston on four, Walker on three.
  2. Stop saying "tomorrow will be better" and you will never be let down.
  3. Don't worry. There won't be a close call all night involving the Cubs.
  4. more drugs plz. I'm telling you, dude. Once these hard hit balls start finding the gaps, were gonna get the luck back on our side. The Cubs are actually hitting balls hard? That's amazing. Pierre grounds out SHARPLY to the pitcher to start the game.
  5. Koronka has been struggling a bit lately. I like Pagan. If Murton keeps struggling, I wouldn't mind seeing him start out there a few games.
  6. Yeah I'd also do this. Baker probably doesn't even know how to spell Theriot, though. I also don't care enough anymore, so whatever. I believe you just figured out why Baker doesn't start him. When he fills out the lineup cards he's like, "Terryoh...wait...that doesn't look right. Terioh? No! Drats! I guess it's Perez today..."
  7. you know what scares the hell out of me? (i read some of the topic, but don't have any real comments on it. this sort of applies, but not really): That we fire Hendry and Baker, but end up with Steve Phillips and Joe Morgan.
  8. So Wood's still going to start? That's good.
  9. Peavy was dominant. Missed with one pitch and it's probably going to cost him and his team the game (bottom of the 9th right now).
  10. :?: Kerry Wood, he was used with absolutely no caution in HS. Threw both halves of a double header if memory serves. His crappy mechanics have had more of an effect than any double-header True, but it definitely doesn't help that he had games where he threw 170+ pitches in high school.
  11. Cedeno can bunt, dude. He can also run. Gotta have speed at the top. It's not terrible by any means though.
  12. that was awesome. I saw it last night.
  13. he could probably be a fielding/infield coach at some point in his career if he wished. I remember how hot he started 2002 (2003 too, I think) and I kept thinking what a great find he was.
  14. well, this is what I wanted, a win heading into the 3-game set with the rooks. we have to sweep this series if we want back in.
  15. Z! caused a bit of a shouting match after Pierzynski homered.
  16. I thought he was asking for a ball personally. The ump threw one to him right after that.
  17. did the other broadcast show what happened? all I saw was that Ozzie was going berserk, and apparently for no reason.
  18. The first homer was similar to that too. Not quite as low. I don't think Contreras will be going back down there again today. Did anyone else yell, "Stretch, stretch!" as that Podsednik went back to the track?
  19. .... Well...in light of this post, let's try this: Cubs offense: no more runs today plz.
  20. Alright, Z! has to play stopper now. No runs today plz.
  21. I wanted Barrett to absolutely crush that ball. If he would've done that, it would have made my weekend.
  22. Apparently Rich Hill doesn't have a clue and his opinion is meaningless because he's young. Thank you Hawk. *slaps forehead and sighs*
