  1. Good job, UMass. Two TD's in the final minute by Michigan and they'll lead at half and get the ball back in the 3rd quarter.
  2. Washington State is a 23-point underdog to the only team they beat last year (SMU).
  3. Yes, please.
  4. This. Floyd has looked far from great this year. I had this game down as an L before the season because ND always has a hard time up there. Hope I'm wrong.
  5. Matt Moore suffered a concussion towards the end of today's game and went to the hospital. His status for Week 2 is uncertain.
  6. I don't know why they haven't decided what those noon games are going to be on. I would make an assumption, but then for some reason SJSU/Wisconsin was on ESPN last week while Georgia/S. Carolina was on ESPN2.

  8. I feel like AP voters are getting smarter, or at least more aware. I can't imagine Florida dropping from #4 in the preseason to #10 with two wins ten years ago, even if they deserved it. Maybe it's just me.
  9. 4 turnovers (could/should have been at least 6) for Matt Moore. I know you don't pull the plug on someone after you gave them the keys in March...but that was reminiscent (eerily) of Jake Delhomme's game vs Philly last year. In his defense, the line was awful, but Moore made some hideous decisions. Should be interesting to see how that situation plays out this week. Hopefully we can bounce back vs Tampa.
  10. Of course I saw a difference. Believe me I spent the first half waiting and waiting for Crist to come back. That's not the same as saying that game was winnable even considering that circumstance.
  11. I thought that there was the talent to be a bit better than 8-9 wins against a weaker than usual schedule. But I also wasn't counting on Michigan being that good (this week anyway). And obviously Crist missed half the game, but the door was open to win that game if a couple things broke differently. But they didn't. Michigan was a little better today.
  12. Kick the [expletive] field goal, Kelly. You'd think after 5 years of Charlie Weis going for it on 4th downs in field goal range, he'd have known better. Denard Robinson is absolutely insane. Last year, Forcier tore up an ND defense making a ton of mistakes and blowing coverages. For the most part, that wasn't the case today. Robinson just ripped them apart. The defense did just about everything they were capable of doing. Except for biting on a couple of those fake run-turned-quick-pass plays, they did what they could. If there was any such thing as karma, ND wins that game. Michigan made a ton of mental and physical errors, mostly on defense, but ND wasn't good enough to take advantage. I was drinking the kool-aid a bit early on, but this is probably a 7 or 8-win team unless they catch some breaks.
  13. That's kind of nifty.
  14. The proposed MAC makes me cackle. Ohio State, Michigan, ND, MSU, Pitt and 5 nobodies? And why would you put the Big 10's money schools in another conference?
  15. I was randomly checking out lines in the paper last night. Where can I go bet on Florida Atlantic +28.5 against MSU? No disrespect to the Spartans, but they almost never blow out their FBS non-conference opponents. Seems like that's a slam dunk.
  16. I can't wait for the game. I want a win badly - both as revenge for last year's robbery in Ann Arbor and because if ND is to have a successful season this year, they really, really need this one as @MSU, Stanford and Pitt still loom in the near future.
  17. You know a Cubs season is down the craphole when Fred resorts to mere inning summaries rather than play by play.
  18. Nit: Quinn was traded, not cut. I don't know if Bush actually should be stripped of his Heisman or not, but I'd find it very funny if he was.

  20. ND is still behind 3 teams that lost last week (Pitt, Oregon St and UNC). So much for "the pollsters are desperate to rank ND as soon as they do anything". ETA: I agree with it, except maybe in the case of Oregon St.
  21. That doesn't surprise me in the least. Weren't they in the top 25 after beating ND last year? How good people thought ND were at the time (18th ranked coming off a 35-0 opening-week win) vs how good people thought UConn was a week ago + 1 year of Michigan starting hot and ending up being bad = surprise.
  22. Had great seats at the ND/Purdue game today. More than a little uneven at times, but Crist is going to be just fine. The defense should be at least mediocre, which will be more than enough most games. As GR said, some dumb mistakes kept Purdue in it, but they were able to hold them off in the end. If Michigan really did teach Denard Robinson how to throw that game's gonna be difficult.
  23. Announcers really need to quit pretending that there needs to be indisputable evidence to overturn a call. I think every single college football team has been screwed by now by a replay official applying very disputable evidence to overturn a call.
  24. The ol' alma mater beat SE Missouri State 27-10 tonight, essentially without passing. We have 3 good running backs and no good quarterbacks, so why bother, I guess.
  25. Makes sense - ND has a vested interest in helping out any school that wants to be a football independent, and BYU is a big step up from the WMUs and Tulsas of the world in terms of scheduling.
