  1. We out hit 'em 10-8. The name of the game is to hit.
  2. Now would be a great time for Nevin to justify his everyday status in left.
  3. Dusty loves the IBB almost as much as Neifi That's because walks can't hurt you. Only hits can. That's the funny thing; according to the manager, walks kill us when our relievers give them up in late innings; they always come around to score. However, it's for the best that our hitters stay aggressive and swing at whatever comes flying toward the plate, no matter what.
  4. Ah, a two run inning! And Lee's line: 1 BB, 1 run scored; not to mention the amount it drove up Garland's pitch count. How walks can be so frowned upon with this team is beyond me.
  5. Most days I wonder if Dusty can think inside the box. Dusty likes to think inside boxes that have been in storage for over twenty years.
  6. Yeah, that's the true depressing stat in my mind. They finally draw some base on balls, and still end up losing. But, even the better OBP teams in the league lose games after drawing a lot of walks. But, if they were to somehow keep up that pace, I think they'd actually win more than they lose. Instead, Dusty will be able to use the "walks clog the bases" argument all over again. But they scored 4 runs and how many times can they say that? Oh definitely. But it won't be looked at that way, unfortunately. We walked seven times yesterday and lost, therefore walks are discouraged. You can't walk across home plate, the name of the game is to hit.
  7. "It's the life of a middle reliever, dude." Don't worry, Rusch will be back soon to save the bullpen. Although his velocity is down a little, he is 'throwing well'.

I'll tell you what the walks did accomplish yesterday though, they allowed us to score some cheap runs; especially the two that Jones drove in after that error prolonged the inning. Without those walks, the game wouldn't have been close.
