  1. Thank you....to say that Macias is as valuable to a MLB team as Patterson is ridiculous.
  2. Yes, I do want him back. What other options do we have right now? Grossly overpay for Damon? Bring Pie up with absolutely no experience over AA? Start Hairston, a reliable utility player as your every day center fielder?
  3. I agree with all of you...he is frustrating at times, but I think you need to keep putting him out there and hope he has a solid last month or so and can end the season on a positive note coming into spring training.
  4. To call him a loser or a bum and to say he doesn't care is a but much. Do you think he enjoys getting booed every time he plays in front of his HOME fans? Do you think he enjoys struggling? I think his problem is mental and he's defeated before he starts. I think he swings early in the count because he's scared right now to hit behind in the count and swings at anything to avoid a 1-2 or 0-2 count. Call me crazy but maybe a long off-season or God forbid, a few trips to a sports psychologist would help him. It sure helped Smoltz and A-Rod swears by it.....
  5. I'd really like to see Lugo leadoff at second, sign Nomar to another one-year dea, get Giles and re-sign Lawton. Lugo and Lawton setting the table for Lee, Ramirez, Giles and Nomar would be pretty interesting.....
  6. I understand it was a full swing. What I'm saying is perhaps there was miscommunication with Patt thinking it was a safety squeeze and Prior thinking it was a suicide squeeze. Patt didn't break with the pitch and Prior saw that from the corner of his eye and assumed it was Patt's fault and he missed the sign.
  7. Perhaps a safety squeeze was called (often is the case with a pitcher) and Prior didn't execute? I know we need to blame Patterson for everything but just a thought.
  8. I realize everyone seems to want Kearns/Dunn might that won't happen. Two players who could dramatically alter the look of the Cubs would be Julio Lugo at 2nd base and Giles in right. We keep complaining that we don't have anyone who can consistently get on base and make things happen but Lugo is the answer. He can hit over .300, get on base and steal 40 bases a year. As much as I like Walker, he is a station to station player and we need to move in a new direction.
