  1. No worries there, we love making fun of Alou. :D And at least he knows its not pronounced "Pi" Granted, it doesn't quite work the way I wanted it to. Is it "Pee-eh" or "Pee-eye?"
  2. UK, points well taken. I really didn't take into consideration that there were no outs in the inning. I was in a blind rage from the whippin' we were in the midst of. I understand where you're coming from. But, give La Russa credit -- he's one of the lone manager's that has pitched to Bonds over the past few seasons. His logic mirrors yours. He doesn't like the pitchers automatically conceding victory to Bonds. Well, hopefully we have some better luck tomorrow. Nice meeting you guys. Please remember anything that leaves a sour taste in your mouth should be taken lightly (IE: my username). It's all in fun! The Cubs/Cards rivalry is heated, but that doesn't mean the fans can't be classy. Let's not make this Red Sox/Yankees!
  3. Food for thought: Mulder at night: 12-1, 2.14 ERA. Mulder during day: 1-4, 6.93 ERA. (not including today) Anomaly, or something to it?
  4. Just so you guys didn't miss it. ^^ My apologies. This isn't looking good. Saturday's game is the only one I have confidence in us taking. Marquis has sucked lately. Then again, Mulder came in red hot and tanked. Why can't Marquis pull a Mulder and do a 180? Zambrano just kicks our asses, though.
  5. Yes, I'm a Cards fan. I've already 'admitted' to that.
  6. Wait...my bad. He doesn't head hunt! That's what I was thinking of. In fact, in 3 Night in August, he does talk about nailing Luis Gonzalez. Forget what I said!
  7. Why do you have to make something out of nothing? La Russa does not order pitchers to throw at players. Period.
  8. Micro-managing to some, successful managing to others. What's wrong with getting a regular some time off during a blowout? Who said pulling Eckstein was a part of reasoning? Pitching around the #8 hitter to get to the pitcher was my reasoning. I'll be more than happy to explain my thesis on why not to pitch around a #8 hitter. Because why? Sabermetrics? I'd genuinely like to hear what you have to say. Well, in my defense, I did try and sign up to the site before, but my account apparently wasn't accepted be even have the opportunity of being activated. I used the name "InEnemyTerritory." Maybe it was just a technical problem? It's kind of neat getting the prespective of the opposing team's fans, though. Seriously. Cards Talk is blatanly biased, and it's nice to get other views sometimes. When you routinely hear people suggesting that players like John Gall and Bo Hart have a trade value higher than "null," it starts to get frustrating.
  9. Am I gonna get banned? I'm really not doing anything wrong, just stating my (obviously) biased opinions. Do you guys allow Cards fans here, or pretty much just kick 'em out for no apparent reason?
  10. Because it's much more admirable to concede victory. Wow, sure looks good to your players! Earler in the year, down 6, the Cardinals put up 7 runs in the ninth inning. While the chances of that happening are overwhelmingly unlikely, why not play just for that chacne?
  11. I wish Mulder would get his ****ing act together. The trade is already regrettable with Haren't success in Oakland...if Barton amounts to anything, the trade will be the worst in Jocketty's tenure in St. Louis. He just does not pitch inside!
  12. I'll give Lee credit for that homer, though. He absolutely demolished that one.
  13. It's hard to mount a comeback when Maddux has an extra inch or two on either side of the play than his counterparts. Pujols had that "ball" called a strike inside, and out of fear of another ball being called a strike, he swung and missed. He was frustrated. It carried over into the field. This blows. I could mention something about the standings, but I won't. Obviously, this isn't about that. This is just about this kick ass rivalry, and winning one game at a time.
