  1. I'd much rather have Hinrich and Rose playing together than Hinrich and Ben. VDN must be worried about Ben's hamstring locking up.
  2. Whoever starts making shots in the 2nd half is going to win. Boston missed a lot of easy stuff and no one besides Kirk and a little Salmons can get on track for Chicago. Boston looks nervous to me.
  3. That was a good find on the skip pass from Miller to Kirk in the corner. Now Brad will be tempted to continue making ill advised passes.
  4. Out of the top scorers in the game he takes more jump shots than almost all of them. Kobe Bryant is basically a jump shooter. Michael Jordan late in his career was a basically a jump shooter. Dirk, Granger, Joe Johnson, and Ben Gordon are jump shooters. It's not a pejorative thing.
  5. Really? Because at this point in their careers, Allen and Pierce are basically jump shooters. Rondo is devastating on the break and when he gets to the rim because he can set up Perkins and Baby. I'd rather slow him down and let one of Pierce/Allen get theirs. Obviously if both Allen and Pierce are going off then you have major problems.
  6. So if BG is out or plays limited minutes am I crazy for wanting Kirk to guard Rondo and putting Rose on Allen and Salmons on Pierce? I can live with Allen going off as long as Rondo isn't cuting the Bulls up on the interior again. I think Salmons will do an ok job on Pierce (although Kirk is the best Pierce defender by far). Rondo is clearly the head of the snake at this point and I'd like to put our best on the ball defender on him. I hate to say it but this is the sort of game where you miss Thabo. Hunter will have to give us some minutes again.
  7. He's available. And he was suspended the last 3 games of last year, so I'm not sure that he would be suspended at all this year. If so, it wouldn't be more than 1-2 games. His legal situation is far from resolved though isn't it?
  8. Gilbert doesn't look like a 4-3 DE to me at all. He looks like the classic one-gap penetrator that Lovie likes at DT.
  9. You honestly believe a prime Horace Grant would be over matched by the athleticism of today's game but Big Baby wouldn't be?
  10. I'm waiting for the breathless assertion that Demps and Rainey are the best NFL prospects because they have such a high YPC.
  11. I honestly thought the Melton pick would create a little more buzz. I remember a couple years ago when he was kind of a Fridge-like folk hero at Texas because he was a short-yardage/goal line guy.
  12. I'd also like the Bears to take a look at some of the undrafted running backs. I'm surprised 2 other Johnsons were drafted as backs and not Jeremiah Johnson or Ian Johnson.
  13. According to http://myespn.go.com/blogs/nflnation?tag=nfc%20draft%20analysis%2009 the Bears were considering taking Michael Mithcell at #49 until Oakland picked him at 47??? If you don't recall, Mitchell was the guy who had a 7th round/UDFA grade according to Kiper and supposedly a lot of personnel types.
  14. Dallas passed?! Hahahaha.
  15. Cleveland has now picked Robiskie and Massaquoi. Edwards has got to be going somewhere right?
  16. Traded to the Seahawks.
  17. Good chance both Massaquoi and Iglesias are going to be there at 49.
  18. Broncos trade next years first rounder (not sure if its from the Cutler trade) for Seattle's 37th pick and get Alphonso Smith.
  19. I did not see Delmas and Chung being the first safeties off the board.
  20. There's a good pick for the Titans.
  21. Wells couldn't see the field for the Colts. If you can't block or catch the ball, you can't be a RB in the Colts system. It has nothing to do with talent level. I think we all agree that Wells is the more talented pure runner, but he would really hurt the Colts when he was on the field. If the Colts drafted Wells, the only time they could really use him would be as a goal line/3rd and 1 back, and you don't draft a RB in the first round for those two situations. I'll give you catching the ball. He's not going to be great in space (Brown isn't either) but Ohio State backs are never asked to catch the ball out of the backfield and usually end up being pretty good. Wells size/speed combo is better, gets downhill better, is better at the point of attack. As for blocking, I don't really buy that as something that's unique to the Colts. All NFL backs need to be able to block now if they want to be 3 down backs. If you don't believe he can block then you coach him up. The NFL is full of talented runners who weren't great pass protectors. Brown is kind of like Matte Forte version 0.7
  22. If Donald Brown works really hard he'll be half as good as Beanie Wells.
  23. Lol, Donald Brown ahead of Beanie.
  24. Hmm, the Packers gave up quite a bit now they've got two good pieces for the 3-4.
  25. Nice, Michael Oher adoptive sister shots.
