  1. Really, you want that called? Then there should be fouls on every possession. Sticking your leg under the feet of a jump shooter is right out of the KG playbook.
  2. fat boy got away with one
  3. That was a great defensive play by Thomas on that hail mary pass.
  4. Does it matter? Everyone knows Bird is taking Jimmer at any spot.
  5. Speaking of which, did you watch the thunder-heat game? They did one of those 'LISTEN INTO THE HUDDLE' things and Brooks goes "PLAY HARD. PLAY GOOD DEFENSE. DON'T LET YOUR MAN SCORE." Very inspiring stuff. "PASS THE BALL TO KEVIN."
  6. imb is just raging because he knows his coach is hopelessly overmatched
  7. Well the Bulls are a win ugly kind of team.
  8. I just mean iverson in the way that he constantly took shots that no one in the arena was afraid of him making. No one was afraid of Aaron McKie or Eric Snow hurting them offensively either. The fact that Iverson took this team: http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/PHI/2001.html to the NBA Finals is absolutely mind blowing.
  9. You don't get fouled by guys playing under neath every screen or sagging off in isolation. You get fouled by guys you beat to a spot. Hard to beat a guy to a spot when he has a five foot head start.
  10. You're the Laker fan in 2006 who is complaining that Kobe isn't giving the ball to Kwame Brown and Smush Parker enough.
  11. If Westbrook were in a position where he was consistently shooting 5 3s a game his team would be a laughingstock. As it is, Rose is shooting 5 threes a game on a team that is rolling. And seriously, look at some of the old Sixers teams that Iverson played and be astonished that they played as well as they did.
  12. I literally haven't seen him force it at all. Seriously, any #1 perimeter scorer worth his salt takes those shots. All of them. And, you know, make them. 3 months of shooting like Russell Westbrook from 3. I'd be beside myself if Westbrook was taking 5 threes a game. If rose's strength is the ability to beat his man off the dribble whenever he wants, why is he chucking 5 iversons a game? Couple things... Westbrook is the 2nd best player on a team that isn't as good as the Bulls. Let's not create dumb analogies. Iverson isn't a pejorative. Look at the absolute pu pu platter of crap he took to the playoffs years after year. He HAD to shoot for that team to have any chance of winning games. The guy was an incredible basketball player.
  13. Zero doubt in my mind that if Rose continues to get the quality of looks he's been getting his percentage will tick back up. And once he starts hitting them at a decent clip it'll open up the rest of his game. Maybe it won't happen this year but just about everything else about this team seems ahead of schedule.
  14. when you're missing the threes over and over and over, yes.... they are better options. your whole argument is that it's okay that he's taking shots that he's proven he can't hit consistently.... because the other options aren't good either. that's a weak argument to me. "yea, might as well keep taking threes that you won't make.... everyone else sucks anyways. championship!" Yeah, asking someone like Taj Gibson or Keith Bogans to generate offense with any sort of regularity is a worse option than Rose taking an open three. He doesn't actually go 0-5 every game.
  15. If he's making them at a decent clip, no. I'm more concerned about smart, veteran defensive teams that'll trap him outside the line. And then our complete lack of a 2nd ball handler is exposed.
  16. Did you not understand the part about threes not existing in a vacuum dex Rose passes up an open look behind the 3 point line. Ok fine, but THE PLAY DOESNT END THERE. He either passes it to his far, far less talented teammates or drives into defense that wants him to drive. These alternatives are not necessarily better than him taking a high volume of threes. Obviously he can't go 0-5 every game (and he doesn't).
  17. now compare their field goal percentages. also, rose is taking more three's than any of those guys. Yeah, Kobe actually has running mates that can stay on the floor. Lebron has Wade and Bosh. When it was just Lebron in Cleveland he'd be jacking up 5+ threes a game consistently. So if you want to compare us to the Cleveland teams of the last few years...I can entertain that. Lesser star player but a better coach. But I didn't expect the Bulls to be legit contenders this quickly. When the Bulls have a 2 guard and health out of the front line Rose will be more of a lead PG than the guy that has to do everything to generate a decent look.
  18. haha. you're right, the shot selection isn't the problem. he just isn't a three point shooter, yet he's taking them at a crazy rate. he's trying to force the three pointer to be part of his game. Well he has to do SOMETHING with the ball. He stops taking all these threes you're worried about and he's playing right into the teeth of the defense that is sagging off and playing the drive. The threes don't exist in a vacuum. preferably something that doesn't involve brick after brick Yes that would be nice. Or he could pass it to the bevy of ball handlers around him or his reliably healthy low post options.
  19. Compare Rose's 3 pointer percentages and volumes to Wade, Lebron, and Kobe. They're pretty damn similar.

  22. You're right, they'd never beat a decent team, especially on the road, with a shooting night like that. Playoffs are a different animal. I do think the Bulls are probably putting too much pressure on themselves to play 48 minutes of great defense.
  23. What specific 3 point attempts have you had a problem with? I haven't seen them. There's been a heat check, here and there, but by and large he's getting decent looks that any #1 perimeter scorer needs to make (and he's more of that than he is a PG). He's probably tired and needs another offseason to make his release point more consistent. Guys are constantly going under screens, doubling the post, or just playing way off to protect the drive. He just needs to shoot it better...the shot selection isn't a problem, IMO.
  24. I didn't see tonight's game but all the people raging about Rose's 3 point attempts...are you actually watching the games? I haven't seen him get out of line. When you're sagging way the [expletive] off and clogging all the pass/driving lanes, he needs to take (and make) them. Forcing drives that aren't there are just as bad as forcing bad perimeter shots. And if someone kept a statistic this dumb I'm sure Rose would lead the league in end of quarter heaves because he's the only ball handler on the team. Anyway, stop letting an idiot like Hollinger get in your head. He's a buffoon.
  25. What am I supposed to be worrying about?
