  1. we're not doing the "check with me" stuff at the line
  2. probably thomas brown since he has called plays before (granted it was carolina last year so not great)
  3. well market forces kinda dictate that you're going to hire a new OC (as part of bringing in a new staff top to bottom as looks increasingly likely) rather than overhaul the personnel in one offseason i don't disagree with any of the specifics here but if williams has turned into what you say he has, the coaching is culpable to some degree. i do think waldron has shown an almost complete lack to scheme anything open down the field. we're not going to score a touchdown (let alone multiple) unless we're just running teams over without popping some medium-big to big plays in the passing game. tough sledding to put drives together with 50/50 balls and tight window throws. where is our equivalent of a regular schmoe like austin hooper sitting wide open in space for a 28 year gain that set up new england's first touchdown? we had the play to odunze last week and that's about it for the last 3 games. defenses (especially bad ones) shouldn't be able to take away EVERYTHING and they pretty much have except for the 4th quarter against washington in the last 3 games
  4. what is the affirmative case that waldron is good at his job tho
  5. we'll lose a beauty contest for johnson because we're a loser org
  6. this is correct in the sense that a significant chunk of the team is going on strike to get him fired
  7. who wants to start speculating on the next HC list: ben johnson zac robinson liam cohen belichick vrabel todd monken (too old?) kliff k DEION?!
  8. that giants first half was probably the maddest i've ever been for a regular season game lol
  9. friendly reminder that two of the best coaches in the sport who both played quarterback for the bears (one is from naperville ffs) were available in the last two offseasons and we didn't interview either of them
  10. blatant quitting on national tv
  11. uncanny ability have a negative play right after getting into 2nd and medium
  12. well i was a fan of extending jenkins on a team friendly deal knowing how bad the OL is and his injury history but the guy can't vertical jump 2 inches without his ankle blowing up
  13. this is why i didn't fret that much when that report came out earlier this week that eberflus was safe almost no matter what this is going to get so much worse (by staying the same) that there's no way he's going to stick around
  14. would expect the defense to quit momenatarily with all this good field position being blown
  15. i'm still mad that maye was able to "throw the ball away" to a receiver in the end zone
  16. manning, brady, rodgers had 4 different heads coaches in total in their first 30 man-seasons in the nfl
  17. the evidentiary burden is on the offensive coordinator to demonstrate they are someone who can give you an edge in scheme and qb development, not just be in the meaty part of the bell curve
  18. i bet if you asked most people who follow the nfl enough to know about the waldron/geno thing they would guess that waldron's first year as seattle OC was geno's first year with them. but he basically sat for a year behind russ with brian schottenheimer as OC, then sat most of another year (started 3 games and wasn't really good) behind russ with waldron as OC and THEN had his comeback player of the year the following season. it's not like he was on the fringes of an NFL roster and waldron had him coming out gangbusters the very next season
  19. well I don’t think poles will be buying at the deadline but maybe we should be looking to sell. can we get anything for allen and herbert?
  20. we shouldn’t lose a sales contest against any other team in the HC market this offseason. we will but we shouldn’t
  21. pretty easy to root for the Lions for half a season. have them win the super bowl, get johnson out of there into chicago.
  22. the best thing you can say about caleb's first half of his rookie season is that he has faced a lot of adversity and hasn't turned the ball over very much (which he did do last year at SC, especially with fumbles) but he's not really understanding what he's looking at and he's leaving too many plays on the field with inaccurate passes i don't think getting the team to the LOS with a bunch of time left on the play clock and giving him a bunch of control from there is working out. seems overwhelmed.
