  1. Gotta stay in the wild card(take a guess)
  2. SSR, what's Ainge doing? You think you want Jackson? Or is this their way of trading for George or Butler?
  3. https://twitter.com/Savermetrics/status/875826294499328000
  4. My delusions of grandeur having Little and/or Lange signing for a bit under slot are gone. Michael Rooker just got slot from the Twins at 1.935, for pick 35. Didn't expect that out of a 4th year junior, not to mention, I thought he was getting taken in the 30's BECAUSE he'd come cheaper.
  5. I really like them both. They'd each fall between 11-20 currently for me. I hope they both spend August in Tennessee.
  6. Well I hope to see both (Rucker is going tonight but I'll probably see Mekkes tomorrow since he pitched two innings last night) - i'll try to post something of note this weekend (probably from scouts). Also, how do you pronounce Mekkes? Meaks? Mecks? I say Mecks, but no idea if its correct or not.
  7. I like Mekkes a lot. A ton actually. But come on, he's getting over hyped here. There's a guy 6 months older, drafted one round later, that has a higher K/9, lower BB/9, lower FIP, lower xFIP, throws harder, was promoted to MB earlier, and has actually been put IN the rotation, due to how good he's been. Realistically, Rucker is every bit as good of a prospect, if not better, than Mekkes is.
  8. Assad finishes 5 7 2 2 0 3, on 68 pitches. 6/2 GO/FO.
  9. Damnit, Moreno is getting rocked tonight. 3.1 5 5 5 2 3, at 68 pitches.
  10. Steele's last 7 starts.....39.2 IP, 35 H, 12 R, 7 ER, 12 BB, 37 K's..... Solid velo at 90-94, decent shot at 2 above average pitches.....Needs to develop command, but even if he doesn't, he's potentially an excellent pen arm, down the line. If he DOES develop command decently, he's potentially a middle of the rotation guy. He's improved a ton since last year. If he continues what he's currently doing, he'll definitely move into my top 10.
  11. Steele goes 5 4 0 0 3 5, 6/1 GO/FO, on 97 pitches...... MEKKES WATCH.....2 K's in a perfect 6th.
  12. Mine looks a lot like this, although Candelario is on there begrudgingly. I see him only as a trading piece, for whatever value he has. I don't have much faith in him to ever be very productive in the majors. I've never been too high on him. But he's produced at the higher levels in the minors and is ready for a shot with some team, so he's above most of these guys by default. I could flip flop Candelario and Burks and be fine with it. Its hard to put together a top 10 for us currently. Its Eloy, Cease, then personal preference basically.....3-10 is pretty close for me, as of now. But, I suspect the rest of the season will help solidify things.
  13. Robinson got rocked tonight. 5.1 10 6 6 0 5.....
  14. Early season DSL, still trying to figure out who is worth paying attention to....Yovanny Cruz went 4 5 1 1 1 3 today. He's now 12 12 3 2 1 13 on the year as a 17 year old..... Kleiber Carreno went 3 1 0 0 5 today, as an 18 year old. He's now 7.2 2 1 1 5 12 on the year, his first in a Cubs uniform. Carlos Pacheco, 18 out of Mexico is putting up an extremely interesting slash line..... .294/.467/.529 in 11 games. He's got 34 PA and has a triple and 2 homers, to go with 9 walks and 11 K's.

  16. Couple of items of note..... https://twitter.com/Savermetrics/status/875396118170882048 https://twitter.com/Savermetrics/status/875354976511442945 https://twitter.com/Savermetrics/status/875351748474359808 https://twitter.com/Savermetrics/status/875351870583169025 https://twitter.com/Savermetrics/status/875351944323149824 https://twitter.com/Savermetrics/status/875347664757374977 https://twitter.com/Savermetrics/status/875347799176380417 https://twitter.com/Savermetrics/status/875347881493897216 Sounds like Meredith is the Estrada back up plan, to me. It'd be awesome, if you could get him AND Estrada somehow obviously.
  17. The national guys all seem to think it was solid. Little and Lange were both drafted in the right range. Abbott, Uelmen, and Thompson are all guys that can move quick. Velázquez is toolsy. Estrada has pedigree. Solid draft that should pay some dividends quickly.
  18. Under Theo, we've signed 28 players twice, 24 players twice, and 27 players once. If you look at this class, its easy to see us breaking the high end of those numbers..... Top 10 Round Picks should all sign conceivably.....11 Seniors between 11 and 40....6 College Juniors between 11 and 30.....7 That's 24 that are close to written in stone. Let's take a look at the rest..... RHP's Peyton Remy, Braxton Light, and Jeff Passantino are all signing. That's 27. Could be the whole class, but.... Romano is a 4th year Junior we've drafted before. Gotta think he's a decent bet to sign. Logically, Karp is in the same boat. But, my honest guess is we get one of this pair.... High School SS's Vazquez and Messinger.....No idea, but I'm fairly confident we won't sign both. My normal guess would be one. But, with the size of the class, I'll say zero. Coldiron and Vines are guys we haven't heard anything on yet, but based on class size, I'll guess no. Even if Cooper, as a college Junior should sign. The 8 HS kids left.....Bonnin is no chance. Meredith, Ruth, and Ramirez are all top 200 guys. I'd leave a teeny, tiny sliver of hope we get one of that group. But, 10% shot or so.... Tanner Allen has already said no. Cornwell and Smith are projects. I doubt we'd give them much over slot and both probably think they're better off trying school, assuming that's the case. Donovan is an Illinois kid. Maybe he's a die hard Cub guy and wants in now? Otherwise, I'd say no on him as well. Anyway, even though I've said no on basically everyone individually, odds are we'll get a few of that group. My over/under line is 29.5 on the final number.....
  19. Didn't ask, but here's mine lol.....Happ is leaving soon, so he's not on mine. Neither is Oscar, until we hear what his injury is. 1. Jimenez 2. Cease 3. Caratini 4. Alzolay 5. Hatch 6. Candelario 7. Amaya 8. Zagunis 9. Burks 10. Clifton Guys with a shot to end up in top 10 by end of season(no draftees) Ademan, Steele, Rucker, Mekkes, Paredes, Robinson, Moreno, Hudson, Assad, Albertos
  20. Excellent Jeff Passan article on Jeff Passantino lol. He's signing too, which is cool.
  21. I'm very interesting in Assad. I think he's going to put himself on national guys radar this season. I'd say the same for Amaya and Ademan, but they're already on the radar.
  22. Our future HOF Catcher's stateside debut is tomorrow.
  23. Seal Boy is back tonight and is 1-3, in time for his likely call up on Friday.
  24. It was 93-95 last start, or two starts ago. Haven't seen anything from tonight.
