    Kiley has another IFA update coming later this week and indicated Cubs fans would be pleased.

    I think there's literally 0 chance that the White Sox trade something of value to us. Outside of the Cards, our cost would be higher with them than anyone else.

    I don't care what Kershaw's ERA is or the Dodgers record is, that felt like the biggest win of the season to me. Partially due to the pen pitching their asses off.(again)

    P Erling Moreno, outside of Cease, is far more interesting than anyone else WSR named. High bonus guy, just off TJS, still adding velo.

    Lockhart has been mentioned by multiple publications at different times. I have zero idea why, I think they all have looked at his upside of being a utility type.

    Wow. That's gotta be worse than losing it on a bunt. At least he got the no-no. But damn, it sucks he lost the perfecto like THAT. The unwritten baseball rules will see Tabata tomorrow.

    At this exact moment? Probably Dodgers and Cardinals is about it that I'm sure of. There's a few others that are at least in the vicinity: Mets, Astros. Those were the 3 teams I thought long and hard on.

    Honest question: How many teams in baseball would you trade entire major and minor leagues for? For me, it'd just be the Dodgers and only because of their payroll being limitless.

A small deal like this, where we're acquiring controlled guys and likely not having to give up much, seems like something we'd be in on. Again, it'd have to be a small return obviously. But their idea of stockpiling arms makes me think it could be us.

    If Zagunis moves to Tennessee soon and is solid there, why isn't he a top 100 guy?

    When I first heard it, I figured a small group of low level analysts had gotten hammered and this was the result. If it happened multiple times and over a period of time, I find it extremely hard to believe that higher ups weren't in on it. The question then turns to whether it can be proven or not? A low level flunky or two rolling over? Would that suffice? I'm thinking not, but any lawyers around?

    I started bringing Gray up in the offseason. With the A's playing much better as of late, I don't think Billy will deal him. If he would, I can't see us not having to give up Schwarber as part of it. Working relationship or not, Billy will remember last years deal for a very long time. As for Leake, I don't actually like him much.Was being lazy and just wanted to name off a couple of non elite options. I guess he's been pretty healthy, outside of that, he'd only be an upgrade from Wada.

    I want Zobrist more as insurance than anything. My honest guess is even with us getting tied to him as much as we are, someone else will far outbid us for him.

    I wonder how cheap Austin Jackson is next year? If he's cheaper than Fowler by a bunch, I'd go that direction. I kind of doubt that the FO is enamored with Span, unless they think his D is just positioning issues as well. If it comes down to 4/60 or the FA class minus those 2, I'll take 4/60 all day long on Dex. I wanted Rasmus last offseason, but prefer Fowler to him.

    Prospects are your thing, but, I'm...struggling to see how a guy with 5.8 K/9 at A+ is a top 50 prospect. The stuff is improving, extremely young, I've seen multiple prospect guys at BA/BP say he's a top 100 guy now. I said top 50 because he's been even better since they first started saying it. The K rate is disturbing, but the stuff is still improving and the K's should conceivably start to come.

    It's very possible that Torres and Underwood are top 50 prospects at this point. In all seriousness, would another team beat those 2, Alcantara, and Vogelbach for Hamels?

    Theo made some starting pitching comments yesterday, so it appears that's definitely on the agenda. I want one of Papelbon/Clippard, a Kazmir/Leake caliber starter, and Zobrist. Or at least a solid bench bat.
