    I hate Rogers more. Sox lover just wants to diss the Cubs. I can't stand Rogers either, but Baker's idiocy and self-serving ways directly kill this team on a daily basis.

    Why? Was Dusty on the radio too? When asked about the prospects of guys like Murton and Cedeno getting fulltime gigs, he replied: Well if I dont play them i will be accused of not liking young players (this was the jist according to Rogers)etc....

    I ask again is Furcal worth 13 million dollars? ---------------------------------------------------- 13 $$$ in a vacuum, no. 10 or 11 when we are in the middle of our "window of opportunity" with the starting staff we have, are in desperate need of a leadoff hitter(OBP in general) AND he is a player entering his prime that brings Gold Glover calibur defense with him as well.............. then yes, IMO.

    Absolutely agree. Think about this folks: 5 years and $45M for a guy, who has never achieved an OPS over .795, and who's OBP has not been above .352 in the last 4 seasons. This is just not smart. He's a SS who hits leadoff. There aren't many of those who have an OPS above .800. It's basically Derek Jeter and ... Derek Jeter.[/b] Agreed. Along with an excellent steal rate, Gold Glove(behind a team built on pitching), a player that is used to winning and is just entering his prime.

    i'm telling you, that's not matt lawton. There is no way a player's approach to hitting changes that drastically after one trade. Unless there is some sort of Clockwork Orange visual torture where they make their players associate walks with rape and murder... One of my favorite movies. Stanley Kubrick is/was one of the greats. carry on.

    "You may think Cedeno could perform better than Neifi, but you don't know that for certain. AAA stats don't compare to ML stats. " And herein lies the biggest problem. Perez has been what his career #'s would suggest he would be, Brutal. We should already have a better idea of what Cedeno may/may not bring to the table at the big league level, but we don't its still an "unknown" as you say, because we have/had an idiot giving the atbats to a "known" failure.

    Walker is hitting .322 with a .375 OBP in August, Perez is hitting .326 with a .383 OBP. Just throwing that out there. Oh, and Neifi's had 16 fewer ABs Neifi's hot streaks are so unreliable that I'm inclined not to rely on Neifi at all. No, I see that, I'm not defending Neifi especially - I go through that same stomach-plunge as everyone when he's at the plate, just throwing in a stat that could be used to defend him, or at least his selection of late. I'm not a Neifi appologist either, but he isn't nearly as bad as many people here make him out to be, especially since he has been in a Cubs uniform, which is all that should matter if you are sincerly a Cubs fan. Yes he is.

    I thought the reasoning behind Hairston not being in the lineup sooner, while Hollandsworth was stinking it up earlier this season was "Leftfield was harder to play then center". Which was ridiculous all things considered. It's fine for him to play it in Coors now though.

    C'mon.. Neifi Perez AB.. why wouldnt it work?? Hey, I think it would have been a great call !! But the squeeze just isn't in Baker's arsenal for some reason. Nothing is in the mans "arsenal" IMO. Not even when the opposing manager is beating his brains in with the same thing in an entire series does he get it.
