    It's not just because the Bears have sucked; I actually think the NFL is kinda boring. The announcers and analysts all say the same things (and unlike in baseball, there's not that as much intellectual conversation about the game/tactics), there are too many commercials and other breaks in the action, everything that happens every week feels overhyped by every media outlet, and it seems like every season is defined by who's injured/suspended. I like the game of football: the strategy/schemes, the athleticism, the complexity -- but everything around the NFL has made it so much less fun.

    St. Louis Dispatch about to publish a column saying we should rename it Stephen Piscotty's Disease. Pretty sure if my mother was dying of a horrible disease it would have an effect on my job performance. Pretty sure you're a dickhole for making a joke about it. The joke was about the St Louis Dispatch, not his mom dying of ALS, dingus.

    i completely forgot about that, so now i'm watching the video. it's still so weird to see lee throw the punch out of nowhere. he must have had something else bothering him that day. I think the rumor was that Chris Young had said something about his daughter who had that rare disease Lee was trying to raise money to cure. It was never substantiated, though. I see.

    Didn't Soriano actually turn himself into a pretty decent fielder after Sveum and co came in and actually, you know, started coaching him to play the position? nah not really. had a positive fielding year one year but prob just the random variance of defensive metrics was better in 07 and 08 I loved it when people thought they could just run on him since he was a new OF and he'd just unload at three-quarters to nail guys at the plate.
