  1. it doesn't have anything to do with the cubs. they're awesome. i put up with a lot of trash to experience this good window and im gonna suck every drop out of it. i just think you have people who react to every brandon kintzler trade by going ELITE SOFT CONTACT THEO DOES IT AGAIN and then scoff at every move the brewers make like they're some foolish band of idiots fumbling around. And what we see is that the brewers are an actual good team who are making incremental improvements and it's not out of the realm of possibility that they're just slightly worse than we are. The reaction to the Cubs adding Kintzler on this board has generally been 'meh, he doesn't strike anyone out but at least is a soft contact guy. Oh well, we didn't give anything up and it's not like we have to rely on him.' There is concurrently legitimate confusion as to why Milwaukee has traded assets -- some of them of the decent, MLB variety -- in moves that affect their everyday lineup that may be detrimental to their team, which is objectively playing above its weight as-is. They either think their starters are going to start striking more guys out or that the guys they're playing out of position are going to be better than they've been in the past. That's weird and we should question why!
  2. Damn, that's that dude's mom?
  3. you dont strike me as cocky, just confident One man's cocky is another man's... horsefeathers it CUBZ RULE BREWERS DROOL
  4. And, IF defense downgrades aren't insignificant for a team like Milwaukee. Their starters are in the bottom half of MLB in K% and they have the 8th worse hard contact rate. They need to convert balls in play into outs to keep this up. We should trade them kintzler I, too, am looking forward to your Front Page article complaining about our 6th best reliever.
  5. Villar: .304 wOBA this year, .313 career Schoop: .306 wOBA this year, .320 career Trading for Villar for Schoop and moving him to SS is an objective downgrade, not just inefficient. Moustakas can hit better than the Brewers 2B, but Shaw is also high risk for being worse than expected at 2B, they gave up a nontrivial trade asset to make that happen, and there's also not a huge difference in Moustakas's bat and what you'd expect from an amalgamation of existing 2B options(never mind other trade targets). This isn't reflexive hating of a rival here, I'm the guy who was high on the Gerrit Cole deal, for example. That also illustrates that I might be very wrong, it's happened many times. But to me, trading for not good players so you can make your team's one elite strength actively worse is just dumb. And, IF defense downgrades aren't insignificant for a team like Milwaukee. 6. I don't get it -- aren't Villar and Schoop very similar players, output-wise? Both IF, about the same age, similar years of control left?
  7. Lol did anyone tell him that he's joining the top team in the NL? Try not to get too excited, Brandon.
  8. Starters (4): Lester Yu Hendricks Q Relievers (8): Morrow CJ Strop Cishek Chavez Monty Wilson Kintzler This is a good staff for the playoffs. I suppose you could find a way to squeeze in Hamels if you really wanted to (dropping TLS or Bote, which I probably wouldn't do) or if Yu somehow isn't healthy by then. We already know what the offense is capable of, so let's just get healthy and see what happens.
  9. Adding to their collection of ~2 WAR position players, I see.
  10. This is interesting. I don't love relievers that don't strike out a lot of guys and don't have elite GB rates, but his K and BB rates have ticked in the right direction as of late (LD rate, too, but not sure that's stable in this short a span) -- not sure if he's made changes or if this is him getting healthy after his DL stint for the forearm. He's also got a $10m team option and $5m player option for next year and I know we've been linked to him in the past.
  11. Sick 2013 rotation, brah.

  13. I decided to check out his twitter account. He'll fit right in in STL...
  14. Pham is going to the Rays and Cards fans on Twitter think they're getting ARCHER. LMAO
  15. Quit being a Hader. We haven’t even gotten to the super soft part of our schedule.
  16. Over what? When he was mad online last night I tweeted him: "No one cares, my guy. Quit going to the games. You won't be missed." What a little dork. I was trying to discern what he was complaining about: the Cubs told him he had to stop standing up and taking photos and he decided to complain about beer guys?
  17. Has there been any third party verification of what racist things were said/done? I know that he's faced backlash because Erdogan is a monster (which isn't racist, per se) but also that a lot of European squads have legit issues with racism/nativism in the past (France and Belgium come to mind).
  18. “Why do you call him that?” “He caught me looking”
  19. Trout did something similar. A little different than I hate gay people. And black people. And women. If you hate women and also hate gay people, we call that self loathing.
  20. What, exactly, has been Leonard's problem? Him sitting out/protesting playing/pouting has been talked about at length but wasn't clear on the background.
  21. I can't wait for the Cubs to sign Harper's dad as a BP quality control coach to help seal the deal.
  22. Absolutely, but probably much less so for local home announcers on a national broadcast, getting to talk up their team, their city, their ballpark. Oh I'm in agreement. Was just making a comment in general. A bit part of the excitement of a homer is that it's unexpected. In the derby, it's gotta be somewhat annoying for those guys!
