  1. Lol you don’t want the Cubs to win the World Series because if who’s president?
  2. Talent distribution is also not even.
  3. Besides, life is too short to stress over the 25% (even though I think the odds of us finishing lower than first are much lower). You can’t control the odds regardless so why not just have fun and be cocky? It’s not like we lucked into this spot.
  4. How likely do you think it is that the Cubs win the division? I could see it being a Clinton/Trump-type scenario. So, what, approx. 75% or so? Lol we are actually going to spend time in Wisconsin so doubt it’s a 2016 election scenario.

  6. Ah, I miss watching Ken Griffey Jr. (in his prime) hit, but what's the point in mentioning it lol. Also, Ichiro when he first came over was something else. Manny was a great hitter, but I never felt that awe-inspired watching him hit.
  7. Bryce Harper, though. I'm 100% on the Harper bandwagon, but I appreciate the cost-benefit-analysis of saying Eloy might give you 70% of Harper at 1% of the cost I would be surprised if Eloy becomes 70% of Harper.
  8. Speaking of crazy stats, I also saw something on Twitter comparing Bryant’s first 100 or so games in 2015 to Javy’s this season. I was struck by two things: 1. Javy is just about as good as Bryant was over that stretch which is amazing 2. Bryant K-ing a lot is but a distant memory. I can’t believe he was that good and just got better. Until he was tragically lost at sea a couple of months ago. Leads all 3B in BsR* *Buoyancy Rating
  9. Dude they’re trying to get better stop criticizing.
  10. Milwaukee’s season is like a unique pizza on the menu that you keep telling your friend is going to be disgusting despite him waiting anxiously for it to come to the table.
  11. Yeah, didn't mean it as a comparison really. Just was looking at Manny's stats and remembering how good he was and it's crazy to me that Javy is on that level overall this year. 12. Okay I didn’t read the responses. It’s very cool.
  13. Not as a hitter tho.
  14. You're not wrong! Splitting with the Padres at home is kind of like biting into a bug on your pizza but then realizing that they're chapulines and the pizza is actually not bad.
  15. Seeing this post was like being drunk and excitedly waiting for pizza to be delivered, only to pass out before eating it and finding the soggy, air-temp pie at your doorstep.
  16. Manny Ramirez had a 14% career walk rate. Yeah. I love Javy but Manny's a top ~20 hitter of all time. Him being Manny-esque at the plate would likely put him in conversation for best player in MLB every year.
  17. This is... a bad analogy. Biting into a gross bug isn't something that happens 40% of the time even when eating top-tier pizza.
  18. that's actually just clayton kershaw throwing to one of those nets that bounce the ball back at you DAMNIT I WAS GOING TO MAKE THIS JOKE
  19. Fun fact: Rich Harden's 71 IP with the Cubs in 2008 that we remember as being so dominant is more or less Yu's career numbers over 800 more innings from a Ks, BBs, FIP standpoint. In short, I like Yu Darvish and hope he's healthy soon.
  20. McCullers just left the game pointing at his elbow and shaking his arm...
  21. Unless it’s raping young boys in the shower, the NCAA pretends like they have no jurisdiction when it comes to cover ups and legitimate criminality within athletic departments. They did absolutely nothing to Baylor, Tennessee, or Vanderbilt for their athletic departments covering up sex crimes by their athletes. I’d argue that OSU escaping NCAA punishment is less to do with OSU being a blue blood and more about the NCAA being giant hypocritical weasels. Even when it is, the punishment isn't that great.
  22. Rizzo's face at :22... he's CRACKING UP.
  23. Another lefty by the name of Shawn Estes gave us one good game in '03 too. It was an 8-0 game where he threw 116 pitches. I know that it was his last start but man, Dusty gonna Dusty.
  24. https://theathletic.com/454272/2018/08/01/rosenthal-pirates-defy-the-narrative-by-pulling-off-trade-for-chris-archer/ Of course his next line was "Cubz Rule Brewerz Drool" so who knows. Damn, I need to trademark that.
