  1. I'm watching this game on tv in Salt Lake City (couldn't make it to the game). It's really nice to hear some quality basketball announcers. Very even-handed.
  2. I don't see why they're mutually exclusive. It would seem that a lot of meatheads would have meatball attitudes about sports.
  3. Can't wait for him to get in the HOF
  4. I don't really think the schedule is that tough. It's just tougher than what it's been lately. Asider from Utah and New Orleans the really tough games are at home and the Bulls can beat anyone at the UC. Also, Noah will reportedly be back for the Miami game.
  5. In addition to the "Decision", a lot of the LeBron backlash has to do with his inability to bring a championship to Cleveland -- a town of perennial losing teams. Pujols led his team to a lot of wins and (ugh) a WS title.
  6. How are Rose's MVP chances looking? One thing I noticed is that the last MVP to be on a team with less than 50 wins was Iverson in 2000-01. The Knicks are going to be under 50 -- does Rose end up getting the edge as a result?
  7. I'm actually shocked Rosenbloom took that position.
  8. Revenue generation would be a pretty big deal, I don't know how to account for it, though. If management has the room to go after one of the two, though, and it's close, I could see revenue generation swaying them to spend more for Pujols. You could use jersey sales as a high level baseline. Something like: Pujols jerseys are 4x more popular than Fielder jerseys, so maybe Pujols generates 4x more revenue.
  9. Didn't Mark Sanchez blame headset issues for his performance?
  10. The thing is, it's not just Dilfer. Schlereth is always bitching about him, Buck is always mentioning his "killer picks" (while simultaneous praising guys who threw for more INTs this season)... it's just so god damned annoying. Even if we won the SB this year the media would still be on Cutler's ass.
  11. I didn't realize dilfer had a camera locked on cutler to document his every move behind the scenes. Or maybe he's suggesting they reenact the argument for the tv cameras v Yeah, so he can be a spoiled brat who doesn't respect his coaches and goes against the wishes of his team? They're always looking for ways to take shots on him. Fans were literally burning his jersey outside of Soldier. [expletive].
  12. This whole situation just makes me sick. Are we really questioning Jay's toughness? Trent Dilfer said something along the lines of "I'm not questioning his toughness, but how come we didn't see him arguing with the training staff?" What a load of [expletive].
  13. I know. I think I'll be avoiding the local radio shows for awhile. Facebook is already bad enough.
  14. God Bears fans are [expletive] stupid sometimes. I can't believe people are honestly suggesting this [expletive].
  15. I'm obviously disappointed, but I'm still proud of the way this team fought throughout the year. The effort the D put forward today was just awesome. Hoping we can build on this for next season. And yes, I too am dreading the Steve Rosemblooms of the world calling for Cutler's ouster.
  16. Sounds like they just hate Marinelli and Martz. It's kinda understandable since they are both a part of their horrible recent history. But it's not like they squandered some great talent up there. Speaking of the Lions, has there ever been a worse executive than Matt Millen? Donald Sterling looks like Billy Beane next to that guy. Stop trying to change the subject to build rapport and deflect criticism. Packers suck.
  17. That was the series where MJ tripped in the lane on what would've been the game winning drive in game 6, right?
  18. Wtf? Did he delete something?
  19. Don't think I agree with that one, either. Granted, the NHL is well behind the NFL in overall interest, but game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals was just 7 months ago, and that was a pretty big game. The White Sox had two World Series games in town 5 years back, and the Cubs played some pretty important NLCS games back in '03, too. On the NFL level, the 2006 NFC Championship 4 years ago was a pretty big deal, as well. Only half the city rooted for the Cubs and Sox, or maybe a little over half, and no one cares about hockey the way they do about the NFL (I know you qualified your statement but it's not even close). Edit: maybe you could argue for one of the big Bulls games of the mid 90s.
  20. Exactly. NFL Network blows the [expletive] out of whatever coverage is on ESPN. What are the good shows? I've only watched when they've broadcasted Thursday Night Football and it kinda sucked.
  21. God, Battle is such a chucker.
  22. what does this even mean? I stared at that sentence for five minutes today and couldn't figure it out. 1. Eli Manning is overrated 2. Eli Manning throws a lot of interceptions (or "picks") 3. Michael Strahan loves Eli Manning (i.e., "[strahan] hangs off of [Eli's]nuts") 4. "Nuts" is slang for testes 5. Michael Strahan is upset that the Giants (Eli Manning's team) are not in the playoffs Maybe I should've said something along the lines of "I'm sure Strahan is just pissed because he can't kiss Eli Manning's overrated, pick-throwing ass in the playoffs." :D
  23. It's usually around 2/20 if I recall correctly.
  24. TO, Strahan trashing Cutler. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2011/01/to-strahan-team-up-to-trash-color-blind-cutler.html Strahan is such a piece of [expletive]. I'm sure he's still crying because he doesn't get to hang off of Eli Manning's overrated, pick-throwing testes in the playoffs.
