  1. Typical Kobe: not passing the ball while triple-teamed and attempting to make a game-winner. Love it.
  2. I'll see what I can do. And please don't use that crappy ass Linkin Park thanks for the memories song. k, thanks "Love Hurts" by Nazareth would be a good choice. The Incubus version may be more apt in this case.
  3. Can someone make some sort of "thanks for the memories" video? That would be awesome.
  4. I couldn't get much further, the nicknamification became too exhausting. ? There wasn't a nickname in the title... No, but the article was full of them. I like to think that I follow the Cubs closely enough that if I have to stop and think "who is he talking about?" three times in the span of two paragraphs, then the writer is probably trying too hard. Yeah, I don't really care about the article and agree on the nicknames -- I just thought the title was funny.

  6. http://www.chicagonow.com/goat-riders-of-the-apocalypse/2011/12/blind-unconditional-trust-in-theo-epstein-must-continue/ Love the title.
  7. I'm all for the additional ball-handling and scoring, but isn't Rip generally regarded as a defensive liability these days?
  8. There has to be a McDonald's on the property, so that restaurant will be serving Big Macs. I don't get it. From the Tribune story Oh, the other one just says foreseeable future, which I assumed meant until they actually build something there. That's fine though. McDonald's can co-exist with a real place. Or the restaurant can go in the Triangle. Yeah, they could integrate it pretty easily. Maybe even make it a more upscale-type one -- similar to Rock 'n' Roll but Cubs themed.

  11. Sign minor wart players; develop wartless ones. That's the Cubs Way.
  12. He's going to average 37 HR per season over the next 10 years? Possible but unlikely.

  14. They're reluctant to give that out now after what happened to SMU. No, the actual death penalty.
  15. no. It should have been 14, but otherwise, yes. Oh. Successful attempts/total attempts would be a lot more useful. There are certainly situations where it wouldn't make sense to go second to home on a single, for example. Those shouldn't count against a player's baserunning acumen. Sorry, Mariner's Revenge. ETA: but yes, that would make his baserunning stats truly historically awful.
  16. Is that saying he was only on 2nd 12 times when a single was hit. That seems insanely low to me. no.
  17. Pretty terrible. I have to wonder how much of this is on the manager/3B coach? (yes, I know our current manager was a terrible 3B coach...)
