  1. Jesus, Javi hits the ball so [expletive] hard, even when he doesn't hit it squarely.
  2. He also let out a "[expletive]" after striking out. Huge makeup issues.
  3. Sharma landed a BP gig.
  4. Never woulda happened if we had kept Olin.
  5. Sean Rodriguez loving the heckling today
  6. It's silly to use "a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush" logic wrt definitely getting Hamels vs. the risk of not signing Lester, and then saying you're cool with trading Castro because Russell is going to be awesome.
  7. If you ain't first yer last.
  8. Great interview. I loved the Manny story but my favorite part was Bryant talking about his approach. "The ball in the air is where the hits are... something like 89% of balls hit on the ground in the big leagues are outs." It just came across as thoughtful. I'm also almost positive it's wrong. Hey, I didn't say it was correct. But he's optimizing to what he thinks is a fact. :D

  16. No, but I pretended like I was for years afterwards every time I looked at my desktop.
  17. Grinderball rule #63: always run into walls.
  18. Let's not go crazy, now. I skipped the 10th and 11th. Did I miss something? He made a pretty nice turn but low throw in the 8th that required a good dig from Rizzo. In the 11th, he let a ball deflect off of him that probably could have been scored an error. I'm not complaining about him and am confident that he'll be solid defensively, but I wouldn't call his performance flawless.
