    It's weird, at first I was going to say that he's had 2 times as many at bats against lefties as opposed to righties, and that that may be a reason for the early success. But then I checked his Daytona splits and he's actually hit righties .100 OPS points better than lefties.

    Ricky Nolasco His 5.42 ERA is haunting my dreams 8-) Nolasco was excellent last year (3.52 ERA, 1.102 WHIP, 186:42 K:BB), but struggled to open this year. Since a demotion at midseason, though, he's been very good again. June: 1.91 ERA, 0.970 WHIP, 33:5 K:BB July: 3.76 ERA, 1.101 WHIP, 35:8 K:BB I know, I was just noting that he was absolutely putrid earlier this year. As you say he's coming around again, so we'll see if he keeps it up this time around. Was there a reason (injury?) for how bad he was earlier this season, or did they just send himself down to "find himself" again?

    Don't know if it was mentioned but ESPN 1000 said that Lou told one of their guys that soon it will be Lee/Rammy/Sori 3,4,5.

    Awesome. I'm like you, even if the pay is crap, i'd still love working with baseball in some fashion. There's always a very, very small chance that they keep promoting you (or you just meet the right people) and work your way up the ladder a bit. Nice.

    Whitenack sounds like a very good pick. Any time you can get someone with arguably a plus plus pitch, it's worth the gamble to try and further develop the others.
