  1. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7816932/K-Rod-has-reason-to-look-forward Just sounds like Rosenthal speculating.
  2. Yup, in 2001, he was the Diamondbacks top prospect according to BA That must have been a pathetic farm system at the time when you look at what Cintron put up in 2000 in the minors... 2000 numbers: .301/.338/.404/.742 That is your #1 prospect in 01? Yeesh. I recall Meph saying something in a previous thread where Cintron was brought up about Cintron being considered the next Derek Jeter at one point. Ha! .317/.359/.489 over 487 PA in 2003. Cintron at least has the tools to put up a decent line... which is something. We could catch lightning in a bottle. Yeah but the last time he really played it was .273 .298 .415 Very icky. And very......Hendry-ish, if I may say so. How many guys come through here who have basically the same OBP as their AVG? FTH with that crap? Which might be better than our current production at the position.
  3. If we're talking platoon (like with Byrd), Willitis has a .333/.406/.381 line against LH pitching (for a .787 OPS).
  4. He could be that OF who can play all three positions that we're looking for as well. He's a switch hitter by the way. The obvious setback is that he has no power, but I can live with that getting a near .400 OBP out of him.
  5. Take it with a grain of salt, but a pretty reliable poster on Brewerfan.net had this to say: This was also said earlier in that thread by good poster: I can't believe I forgot about Willitis when we were talking about what we could get from LAA in a potential Marquis deal. I would definately be on board, he's a great fallback option if Pie struggles. http://brewersfandemonium.yuku.com/topic/10889/t/Cubs-sign-Alex-Cintron----foreshadow--trade--Brian-Roberts.html
  6. CubsHub just put up their scouting report on Ceda today: http://www.cubshub.com/?p=742
  7. I don't get it...how does the screenname "Ram my fanny" have anything to do with Aramis? Does this have anything to do with what Izturis did to him in the dugout? You know it 8-)
  8. I jus posted the article right after you. But I give Hendry the thumbs up on this one. Why are we trading our good prospects to upgrade an already strong position?

  10. Despite my man love for Aramis (see name), i've always thought we should've looked at SF when they said they would deal Lincecum (or possibly Cain) for a power bat. Don't know if his contract would've steered them away, but I could live with a lineup of with DeRosa at 3rd (assuming we could deal for Roberts), if it meant the staff was: Zambrano Hill Lincecum (though he probably pitches like a 1 next year) Lilly Lieber With some money opened up for FA next year. That was always my little fantasy trade (that I think SF would consider) since Lincecum's my favorite player not on the Cubs.
  11. Give us Chone  Hmm, I wonder who we would would get for Marquis from LAA. GMJ i'm guessing?
  12. For those who need their fix: Belkast: When asked if he thinks PA will sign off on it: Enjoy 8-)
  13. There's still BigBird and Sonny for me to update you guys on
  14. How would BRob improve any of those areas in the first place? We'd still have three black holes in our lineup with him unless you think DeRosa can play center, catcher, or consistent short.
  15. Haha, now Peace and BigBird are saying that Roberts might not be traded and that we aren't offering anything acceptable. I don't have a clue what to think anymore, but the potential of Gallagher in our rotation makes me feel pretty good no matter what. http://forum.orioleshangout.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59110&page=43
  16. Here was the top 30 thing: http://www.baseballamerica.com/online/draft/early-draft-preview/2008/265583.html And a great chat: http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/draft/chat/2008/265591.html
  17. It was reported on the Baseball discussions board that Levine has said the Cubs already have a plan to sign Cintron for the backup spot if/when Cedeno is traded. Cedeno is obviously the better guy due to age and potential, but i'd wager both will probably put up around an .700ish OPS next season.
