2. I'd like to think this is all the result of some maniac who is just screaming about how big a fan of California he is. it was all Anthony Kiedis's idea
3. *record scratch* yup that's me, you're probably wondering how i got into this situation..
4. Zach Davies expected ERA is over 7 and he gave up 47% hard hits yesterday, it's really hard to overstate how bad he is
5. StL is so tiresome, i'm very glad to not be subjected to innumerable needless mound visits and curtain calls for a while
6. i mean this is usually a pretty winning strategy, given the Bucs terrible record of tinkering too much with pitchers
7. i had not realized Odubel Herrera was back in the majors, yuck
8. drop: Mike Trout ($200) add: Kris Bryant ($100)
9. drop: Cody Bellinger ($200) add: Ronald Acuña Jr. ($200)
10. hey i'm counting on him now to have a 25 HR week to vault me to a share of 1st place
11. for players that qualify on fangraphs pre-29 and post-30 Jonathan Lucroy (lol) has the biggest dropoff in WAR per 650 PA Lucroy 7.6 to 1.7 Pujols 7.5 to 1.7 Griffey 6.7 to 1.3 Nomar 6 to 1 Banks 6.6 to 1.9 Andruw Jones 6 to 1.9 some other old-timers mixed in there: Frank Thomas (PIT), George Sisler other notable crash & burn in recent memory: Ryan Howard, Mauer, Wieters, Piazza, Hanley, Darryl Strawberry, Mark Kotsay, Prince Fielder, Matt Kemp, Bobby Abreu, Vlad Sr., Andre Dawson all had 3+ WAR difference in production level after turning 30 Kotsay's is funny because he wasn't even that great younger but then he averaged -1.2 WAR per full season in his 30s
12. he needs to come out and admit he's really 51
13. Counterpoint: Every dollar Kris Bryant takes as a member of the Chicago Cubs is a dollar out of Tom Rickett's pocket, and while I agree that it is a very stupid system and yes, his 2026 production will probably not match the amount he is getting paid that year, he deserves that money way more than pretty much anyone else in the world. it's not a very compelling counterpoint, given there's a very limited number of dollars PTR lets Jed take out of his pocket
14. he'll be 30 next opening day and he turned down $200M love him but i have a hard time seeing a megadeal panning out very well factoring age, recurring injuries, lack of any long-term supporting cast (and self-imposed limited budget) prob best to let that dream die
15. ngl i'd have taken that trade (if i actually believed in their '20 Love evaluation)
16. should have an assist already too :-"
17. on appearances alone i would probably give Matt Duffy the highest odds to be on the 'educational process' list
18. ho ly horsefeathers
19. head-scratcher, from my pov
20. C Will Smith 50 1B Luke Voit 75 2B Max Muncy 100 3B Vlad Guerrero Jr 50 SS Trevor Story 100 OF Juan Soto 100 OF Ian Happ 25 OF Mike Trout 200 OF Cody Bellinger 200 DH Miguel Sano 100 1000 bench PM
21. tbh i was kinda unbothered by it knowing we would've gotten summarily destroyed by the Zags Final Four would've been a great feat esp without Livers though
22. only in March Madness you can have Farva from Super Troopers knock out a title favorite
