  1. wouldn't Chris Young (career .836 OPS vs. LHP, impossibly low BABIP) be the perfect Scott Hairson replacement...albeit at probably double the price
  2. i hope this development doesn't affect Sweeney's attitude toward a possible 3-year extension
  3. one of these days you'll have to explain to me why Castro's and Vitters' ages should be brought up as a defense of every criticism whereas Porcello's is always just swept under the rug
  4. Doug Fister has a .324 BABIP right now, and an ERA close to a full run above his FIP
  5. he's -arguably a better pitcher right now, than Garza -under team control for another 2-1/2 years (and an ideal extension candidate) -pitching the best ball of his career -still just 24 i guess i'd have minor concerns with his hittability(?) from the stretch, but that seems like something that could be ironed out; best of all he's somebody that actually legitimately improves our '14 chances, but that might be a negative, given your childlike amusement at all those uproarious '2017!' jokes edit: nm tranny beat me to like half of these points
  6. getting Porcello back for Garza would be a dream scenario
  7. i'm sure i probably committed some kind of violation so feel free to take away Cashner's start, too
  8. actually i still don't like this too much make that Skaggs & Eaton
  9. Skaggs & Davidson but yeah, i don't really want to trade Wood
  10. Stephen Weiss got $4.9M annually on the same day Tyler Bozak got $4.2M i'm reserving judgment until i see what happens with the RFAs, but on the surface that's a little hilarious
  11. Cespedes seems kind of clueless out there in left
  12. keithlaw ‏@keithlaw 3 Jun (2013) Now, Puig. Career, Soler. RT @cubswin32: @keithlaw puig or soler??? ESPN ‏@MLBRumorCentral 28 Jun 12 @keithlaw tells us this AM that nobody he's spoken w/ views Puig as a better prospect than Soler. More to come, obviously.
  13. any observations on Balaguert?
  14. any particular reason A's fans are doing the stupid tomahawk chop??
  15. so perfectly Castillo to mess up on the same play he also does something awesome
  16. oh, so this is the new thing Kyle's choosing to be obnoxiously, willfully moronic about, after the bench fixation sort of blew up in his face with Ransom/Navarro/Sweeney killing it
  17. http://sbb.scout.com/2/1303154.html (free)
  18. i get the feeling he's more along the lines of the Andrew Miller/Franklin Morales/Matt Albers-type of mediocre starter with a great arm turned into useful bullpen piece Theo sought out in his waning Boston days
