    if the A's aren't doing things "the right way TM" then we certainly aren't either there's like 4 teams in recent memory that you could argue "lost on purpose", and one of them is currently in the playoffs (as of 1/6 into the season)

    Psh, whatever. Matt Guerrier is so much better. this is a spectacularly dumb post we didn't trade for him, and the Nats did...and they got a season of virtually replacement-level production and didn't offer him a QO- that's about where it ends; this season's performance is completely immaterial

    not spending big on other teams' free agents is "the right way" and home grown-core: Buster Posey, Madison Bumgarner, Matt Cain, Brandon Belt, Brandon Crawford, Tim Lincecum, Sergio Romo why wouldn't they be?
