  1. Where did the Cubs Cards schedule get released?
  2. Tino was booed this season and it wasn't because he is with the Yankees. He wasn't introduced as a former Cardinal, was he? Tino would get booed regardless.

  4. Going back to the original quote, I do have to say that TLR's teams take on his attitude and desire quite effectively. In that way, the team is drinking the same kool-aid that the fans do. *Play nine and you have a chance. *We come in, go about our business, and good things happen. *This is just one game and we have to get ready for tomorrow. *I knew that I just had to get on base because I knew the guys behind me would drive me in. *We have a different star every night.
  5. I will clap, but I don't expect him to get the roaring ovation others will.

  7. Aren't players always in and out of the clubhouse during the game? They could be watching tape, changing uniforms, getting injuries worked on or taped, going to the bathroom, etc?
  8. Good, even if I don't win my money will go to a good cause. BTW where are you getting this info? I looked on the radio stations web site and found no info. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/stories.nsf/cardinals/story/63C3BA73080D666A8625706300123E08?OpenDocument
  9. I remember the Chicago broadcast showing the Cards dugout, and a couple of guys were yelling stuff at Barrett and trying to get his attention when he was taking signs from Dusty. LaRussa was standing next to them laughing. So Barrett stood up and yelled back at them. And then I remember thinking that I hope those guys come out of the dugout so Carlos could hit them with a fastball that would leave a two foot hole when it came out the other side. And honestly, I still wouldn't mind seeing LaRussa get drilled. It was classless when it happened. But then again, that whole series was classless. The Cubs lead in bean balls I believe, but half of them were curve balls that got away. I'm pretty sure Carlos is the only one to intentionally drill someone on the Cubs side. TLR laughing in the dugout during a game? I highly doubt that.
  10. So it was probably closed right? I haven't been to Busch Stadium since April, but it didn't have a roof then.
  11. That is the worst collision I have seen in a long time.
  12. I suppose you don't think Zambrano or Wood had anything to do with any of those purpose pitches either. The Cubs aren't free of blame from all of that. Why can't we just hope for a good, clean series? No, not when a players runs his mouth like that, this is the same person who said he'd put one in Sosa's ear... There's a difference between a brushback and throwing at a player's head, he was throwing at Patterson's head. I've always said, if I ever had the chance, I would hit him. From past experiences, I've never had a problem throwing at a player when justified. I think the Cubs would be justified for thowing at Morris. What about the comments Zambrano and Prior made a few seasons ago? The Cubs are far from blameless in this business. It got out of hand and it should be over.

  14. Looking at VORP stats makes quite a difference but I was looking at more than batting averages. Watching him play every day and seeing him step up while 4 of the starting 8 are out of the lineup definitely goes into that line of thinking as well.
  15. I hope I'm wrong too and that we just see a great series of hard nosed baseball. But frustration has to be starting to become an issue in that clubhouse. And the Cards always find a way inside the Cubs' heads. Should be interesting to see either way. TLR will have his guys ready to go. I hope Dusty does the same. However it turns out I just hope it is a good series.
  16. umm....no. The guy is having a great year. Who do you feel is doing better in the NL? Jeff Kent You have me there, although I would never want him on my team. i'll take that bet. I sure hope so. I hope we can right the ship and at least make the end of the season interesting. But going against the Cards while we're on a 7 game losing streak isn't exactly comforting. If the Cubs keep losing, I see frustration mounting, and I have a feeling there will be another bean ball war. It's sad, but that's my gut feeling. Anything is possible when the Cards/Cubs match up against each other. I really hope you are wrong though.
  17. umm....no. The guy is having a great year. Who do you feel is doing better in the NL? grudz sounds a little bitter. I figure Grudz is pretty happy where he is now. i'll take that bet. I sure hope so.
  18. I would say good timing on McRae's part...from stltoday.com
  19. Seconds after Chip Carey touts that the Altanta OFers can bring it in and not worry about Eck hitting one over their heads.
  20. Molina isn't there for his hitting although he has had good stretches with the bat this season before getting hurt. Any time the Cards start relying on their catcher for offense they are in trouble. The Cards main concern for the catching core is defense. It has been that way for a long time and it probably wont change anytime soon.
  21. Welcome to the forum! Thanks. I have been reading for awhile now and finally decided to join.
  22. That was a great series even with the outcome not going my teams way. I am already looking forward to the next matchup.
