  1. I just got through again. I had left all of my VWR's alone and was able to get field box behind the plate for 4/8.
  2. I had 10 windows open.
  3. Holy Crap...I just got in and got Bleachers for 7/30. No broken links either, I was able to get right through the process. **Ducking for throwing objects from Cubs fans.** After I was taken to the confirmation page I was dumped back into a VWR.
  4. I have been to Wrigley, Miller, Busch, the Cell, and Kauffman. I have loved all of them because I was there and seeing baseball live and in person. PNC is #1 on my list of have to see ballparks, but I won't get there this season. I am heading to Comerica though, and I am sure I will love that one too.
  5. A strong candidate for sure, but not a favorite. He hasn't put together a Cy caliber year yet. Wait for him to do that before he is a preseason favorite. I don't understand this mentality that you have to wait for a guy to do something before saying he could do something. Carlos has put together 3 straight fantastic seasons. The only reason he hasn't been a major candidate each year is because of depressed win totals, which is the one category the pitcher can least control. He is most definitely a favorite. He's not the only favorite, but he is a favorite, and to deny that is to admit either a bias, or a ignorance about the game. Even as a Cards fan, I totally agree with this.
  6. That doesn't sound very promising.
  7. I did that last year and was shut out on tickets. A coworker only had one window open and was buying tickets in about an hour. Can they block multiple windows now?
  8. I don't think I've really heard Hendry talk about extending Dusty's contract. The media keeps saying he should, and I believe Andy has talked the most about Jim and Dusty's contracts. But I would imagine any talk on this subject would satisfy Cards fans. I want Dusty to manage the Cubs forever. Of course you do. Me? I want Dusty to leave, TLR to decide to retire, and Jocketty to sign Dusty to a 10 year deal. **shuddering at this thought**
  9. Is that the same as registering for the newsletter and signing into the fan forums, or is it a different animal?
  10. I don't think Pujols has very good #'s against him either. Not many people do. That's what makes it fun. :) 8 for 34, .235/.333/.471/.804 Of the 8 hits... 2 2B 2 HR
  11. I don't think Pujols has very good #'s against him either.
  12. As a Cards fan in suburbs of Chicago, I don't know what I would do without MLB EI. The past few years there has been an early bird price for subscribers and you can split your payments over 4 months.
  13. I am not going to deny that Edmonds showboats, but he gets the job done. Z man does his fair share of showboating too, and I don't hear many (any) Cubs fans dogging him about it.
  14. I respect the love for Zman, but lets remember that the Cubs lost this game and Zman was ejected. We were losing when he was ejected (5-3 or 6-3, can't remember). It didn't keep us from the playoffs and I don't remember the loss so much as Edmonds getting what he deserved. What he deserved? I don't get Cubs fans obsession with hating Edmonds, especially considering he was only 1 of 3 Cards to hit HR's that night, and like it or not, Edmonds smoked that HR. It was gone immediately. (Sorry to hijack the Z love thread.)
  15. I respect the love for Zman, but lets remember that the Cubs lost this game and Zman was ejected.
  16. Did he just eat Reyes to win the spot in the rotation by default? So wrong, but so funny...
  17. Is my sarcasm detector broken, or are you serious?
  18. Looking at the breakdown of both teams, I would be worrying more about the Astros splits. The Cards have 6hm and 10 rd and the Cubs have 6hm and 9 rd games against them.
  19. Is whining about the schedule going to change it? KC doesn't lay down for the Cards just like bad teams don't lay down for the Cubs. From what I have seen, most teams gun for both the Cubs and the Cards. Don't I also remember the Cubs playing the Orioles and the D Rays a few years ago when the Cards had to play the Yankees and Red Sox on the road?
  20. The Cards and Royals have not done a home/away series for a number of years. The Cards have played at KC the past two seasons.
  21. I have been shut out the past two years for Cubs tickets the first day they go on sale online. Prior to that, I was always able to get tickets to at least two Cards/Cubs series each year. Last season I ended up calling the box office in August on a whim, and ended up getting seats right behind the Cards bullpen for the clinching game on Sat.
  22. I am reading it right now (about 1/3 into it) and think it is great. I am a really slow reader, so I might have it done by the end of February. I am ready to read it for the 4th time. As a Cards fan, I love it, but I think Cubs fans would enjoy it too.
  23. Well obviously, if they'd known what pujols would be, or even suspected, he wouldn't have been 12th round. But at some point (period of time), you have to attribute the general success of a farm system to skill rather than luck 13th round - 402nd pick Scouts worried that he didn't have a position, had a questionable arm, and was overweight. He had a tryout with Tampa before the draft and he didnt have a good hitting session. They expected HR's and Pujols kept hitting line drives. Not only that, but they had him work behind the plate as a catcher. The scout at Tampa resigned when the team didn't draft him.
  24. You know it is bad when the Cards are actually getting some sympathy from Cubs fans. Clearly the Cards haven't been getting it done, but when FOX announcers are asking White Sox players how they will match up against the Astros when neither team has clinched a WS berth, it makes you wonder.
  25. It wasn't. I got it from a source who would like to remain anonymous. But, I guarantee this source would not give me false info. Thanks.
