  1. dude, this pitcher sucks. what is the problem?
  2. 0-0 pickoff attempt at first 0-0 inside 1-0 right down the middle 1-1 inside 2-1 popup to 1st on a breaking ball 2 down. Chipper Jones up.
  3. 0-0 outside 1-0 outside half 1-1 deep flyout to CF Wells advances to 3rd, Jeter on 1st. 1 down. ARod up.
  4. Jeter singles. men on 1st and 2nd, no outs. Griffey up.
  5. M.H. Son pitching for Korea Wells draws the 4 pitch walk. Son looks upset about the zone, but they weren't even close.
  6. they have gameday for this one as well.
  7. Howry and Eyre are shaky too. Really? Eyre's 4.0 IP, 1H, 0 ER, 6 K, 0 BB looks pretty nice. He's been pretty filthy when I've seen him pitch. Howry didn't look to good that first time out, but he has seemingly improved. Howry: 4.0 IP, 2H, 0 ER, 3 K, 0 BB is pretty solid I haven't seen howry pitch since that first outing (his control sucked), so you may be right. Eyre's been nasty though. I was looking at the bigger picture of their careers and ages. It'll take more than 4 good innings to change my opinion of those guys. True. True. I've just been impressed with Eyre so far. His ADHD treatment is enough to convince me that last season wasn't a fluke. I think Howry is overrated, but I don't expect a meltdown. We definitely overpaid for those two, but I'm more confident in them than I am in Novoa and Weurtz.
  8. Alot of the guys in the WBC aren't in game shape, I know that. Guys like Nathan are throwing about 4-5 mph less than during the season.

  10. Novoa hasn't looked bad, but he hasn't dominated either. Wuertz is killing me. His slider looks good, but his control on the fastball is horrible. Let's hope he gets that figured out soon. Williams has looked like crap so far in ST too.
  11. Yeah, I think Hill, Williams, Guzman, Brownlie and Rusch (taking out Maddux, Wood, Prior, Zambrano and Miller) is still a better rotation than the one the Reds are sending out there. I do like the Reds offense a bit better than ours, but our pitching is clearly better. I wouldn't go that far, but the Reds' rotation is pretty awful. I'm just waiting to see if our rotation is healthy. If Prior, Wood, and Miller make the optimistic deadlines for their returns, we'll make the playoffs with a decent offense. Ramirez and Lee look to be mashing the ball. Pierre is at worst far better than what we had leading off last season. Murton looks good. Hairston is surprising me. Barrett looks good defensively (watching the WBC). I really hate to get optimistic with this ballclub given its track record, but...it's looking ok so far. :) A couple nice surprises from Wood, Miller, or Jones and we might have a very solid club. A couple injuries and we're screwed.
  12. It looks like the Walker/Cubs lying controversy has been cleared up. link
  13. ESPN's Gary Gillette had some encouraging words for the '06 Chicago Cubs: ESPN Insider Chat
  14. Easy popup 3rd base side. 1-2-3 inning. Who else wants some? ROOAAARRRR!!!
  15. working the batter inside out, called strike 3.
  16. link Interesting stuff about the relationship between Chone Figgins and Pierre.

  18. Clines on the post game show. Says he likes what he's seen so far, especially from Aramis. Chemistry with ballclub is best he's seen. Expects great things. Expects a different style of baseball this year. Pierre is going to make things happen. He's looking for a big year with Jones, Murton, Lee, and Ramirez. Pie has been amazing. We call him "Super Baby." He's the real deal. This is the last ST he'll be wearing number 68.
  19. Pagan (batting from the left side against the rightie) is in to bat for Ojeda. 0-0 fouled off 0-1 ball outside 1-1 outside 2-1 flyout to straightaway CF we leave the bases juiced. Game over. 6-10 Rockies. :(
  20. Grissom up with the bases juiced (again). He had a 2 rbi double last time. Grissom falls behind 1-2, fights off a pitch, and then chases the high heat. 2 down.
  21. Coats goes 3-0, lets fastball by for strike 1, and then takes ball 4 outside. RBI walk for Coats. Tying run to the plate. 1 out. 6-10 Rockies.
