You though Dubois's D was bad? Wait till you see Manny on a daily basis. Train wreck. He does put out offensively, but the laziness and lack of basic defensive skills scare me. Would life in Chicago be as private as Manny seems to need? I doubt it.

I believe Nevin said that he wouldn't mind being traded in California, but going across the country was unacceptable to him for personal reasons (family, etc.). -
I'd love to have Kearns, but I can't see Hendry getting O'Brien to do it for a reasonable price. Maybe Hendry should try blackmail.

AC = "Anno Catuli" which is Latin for "Year of our Cubs" the first two digits (should be 01) are the number of years since we won the division (last time was in 2003) the second set of digits (60) is the number of years since we've won the pennant (i.e. gone to the world series). the last set of digits (97) is the number of years since we've won the World Series. :cry: -

after watching Hill tonight, there is no way Hendry should dish him off for Dunn or Kearns (and it was by no means a dominating performance from Hill...but the makings of a filthy pitcher are there).

the reds front office is stupid. playing the mental games they do with low budget players is a sure way to let homegrown talent leave with minimal recompensation via trade.

He just tripped. I don't think that the minor league coaches should be blamed for that. you're taught to step on certain parts of the bag...in little league. he was probably so excited. i'm gonna score. i'm gonna score. ugh. :oops: On the replay, it looked like he tripped before he even hit the bag anyways. yeah, b/c he studder stepped. that's a no no. oh well, i'll bet that's the last time he does that.

i'm stoked...going to the games on Wed. and Thursday. I hope the weather holds out. :D If it gets bad, i'll just hand my lightening rod to neifi and slip on my raincoat.
