  1. aren't the FA classes determined by the most recent two seasons stats? how could nomar be a class A with all the time he's missed?
  2. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. The Baseball Gods would know your ruse, and would still make the Cubs lose all the time. yes, but at least the cubs would have company. spread the misery.
  3. Jerome Williams and Wood for ARod? Yes please, but that seems like a stupid thing for the Yankees to do. Trade ARod? That would be a stupid emotionally driven trade (for the Yankees).
  4. It is amazing how 75% (roughly, lol) of the threads here end up talking about Giles instead of the original topic.
  5. Macha is back in Oakland. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2191370
  6. lmao. the boston media is brutal.
  7. Damon puts butts in the seats? How many more butts can fit in Wrigley than routinely show up? Damon isn't worth it, just looking at dollar figures. Arguing production is another thing.
  8. Hasn't that been the problem? I guess we could have the age old argument about how Prior's injuries were flukes... :?
  9. No. A healthy Prior is worth more to us than a stud SS (or 3B).
  10. Yeah, baby!!! Yankees lose! Yankees lose!
  11. nice, the crap single extends the game. :x
  12. he's a good ballplayer and a grade A whiner.
  13. hahahaha, ARod sucks. Way to ground into the DP. You're not a Yankee, ARod.
  14. That was horrible. OT, but who's gonna replace McAllister on the Saints? does it matter? that team sucks.
  15. Now here this. Joe Buck is the authority on who does/does not tip pitches.
  16. Matsui up with Giambi on 2B and 2 down. Come on Escobar!!
  17. Why should I cheer for a bunch of whiners? boo hoo hoo. no body likes us. we can't sell out a game. they have a pitcher who uses an illegal substance on the ball. [/mocking]
  18. I agree. Farnsworth didn't lose that game. LaRoche and Devine did. People who rag on Farns are seeing things. Not clutch? pfff. Show me his lines from all the games he blew and compare that to any other reliever. Novoa is preferable to Farnsworth? hahahahaha Novoa is about at "clutch" as Hawkins was.
  19. i'll take jimenez over neifi any day (not to mention macias).
  20. When have we ever seen that this organization and its manager value OBP? Giles isn't coming to Chicago. It's nice to daydream, but we're not getting him. Preston Wilson, here we come. :x
  21. Nice job on the basepaths LaRoche.
  22. SB/CS 2000 62/22 2001 33/16 2002 48/15 2003 21/19 2004 21/4 2005 10/7 Those aren't good numbers.
  23. Two horses cut it for the D-backs. two dominant stud horses cut it for the d-backs. wells and clement are horses (innings eaters), but they don't dominate with any regularity.
  24. I don't know if letting pedro go was so bad if Theo would have replaced him with a legit ace (a healthy one at that). Clement is a solid pitcher. Wells still gets it done. Schilling was known at the beginning of the season to miss significant time (he still isn't 100%). Two horses aren't going to cut it. I guess Theo decided not to be held hostage by Pedro, but he should have done better with his '05 rotation. That was the weak spot on his team, not the bp. A crappy starting rotation wore out an average bp. He needed another horse to take the pressure off, preferably a dominant horse. he had plenty in the farm system to offer in trade. The playoffs may be a crapshoot, but you need a good rotation to compete, even if you do have the best offense in your league.
