  1. The 8th inning shows why the Cards have the best record in baseball and why we have another off-season to try and figure out what went wrong. Dusty has mishandled this team going back to and including the playoff loss two years ago. Jose "Double Play King" Macias pinch hitting in the 9th with bases loaded was even more mind boggling.
  2. I agree in part to everything said there. However, I will say in 03 and 04 Cub fans were all over me A LOT more. I think winning brings out that attitude more. EDIT: going in to 04, not during
  3. the Yankees fans are worse. at least Cards fans know something about the game. that curtain call was pretty lame though. they love their Poo-holes there. i was talking about the curtain call for Edmonds, who K'ed 3 times vs. Prior and then hit a solo shot (with the game all but decided) off a reliever. Pujols deserved a curtain call. That was clutch. I agree on both points.
  4. The funny thing is if Dusty hadn't had RC bunt they coulda had the same result.
  5. As a Cardinal fan I say: HOO-RAY for Dusty!
  6. Scouting report on Seabol: He's a stiff.
  7. Prior has 104 pitches, will he be out there next inning?
  8. You know Prior seemed to be copping a feel on J-Rod during that play at the plate. I'm not saying, but I'm just sayin..
  9. He does quite well: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlbpa/players/6787/situational
  10. Hah, Soup looked like he was running in slow motion.
  11. no offense, but I'm to the point now where I think no strike out by Mark Prior is beautiful. he will never return to the dominant pitcher we saw two years ago if he doesn't start pitching to some contact and stop pitching the count full after getting ahead early. his infatuation with striking guys out is absurd. on pace to yet again not make it into the seventh. CUBS are 44-38 when the opponents strikeout 8 or less times, 21-32 when they K more than 8 times. Interesting, do you think that stat means something or is it just plain freaky? When you graph oppenents strikeouts vs. CUBS winning pct... it doesn't appear to be a stron correlation..... so, I guess I'd vote for freaky. That's what I figured. Although, I would have guessed a positive correlation between K's and wins.

  13. I've stoped trying to figure out Dusty, it makes my brain hurt.
  14. Rice Calling It Quits... http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2152365 We just lost a great one.
  15. D. Eckstein ss A. Nunez 3b A. Pujols 1b J. Edmonds cf L. Walker rf M. Grudzielanek 2b J. Rodriguez lf E. Diaz c J. Suppan p There is a reason that line-up wasn't posted. Most people here don't care about the Cardinals.

  17. I suspect we are going to get some answers tonight... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/preview?gameId=250903118 Folks, this is why we love baseball.
