  1. God help us all if Lucroy goes 3/4 tomorrow.
  2. What did I miss? Edit: perhaps you were substituting “Len” for “god”
  3. If Garcia isn't in there tomorrow, I might leave something in the dugout for Madden.
  4. Gotta give Garcia and Schwarber time to cool off. Why not sit KB, too? Get Descalso going.
  5. I had no idea how far Paul DeJong had fallen. His #s were right there with Javy through mid-May. Since May 19th (~200 PA) he’s actually put up a worse line than *gasp* Daniel Descalso. 232 wOBA and 40 wRC+.
  6. Not attacking your point, but it's funny to me how many have written off (or are in the process of writing off) Schwarber, a pedigreed 26 year old with a career .340 wOBA/111 wRC+, and now he's being discussed as not enough to bring back a guy who at 26 hadn't reached the majors and was putting up a .308 wOBA and 81 RC+ in the Texas league. You can say “I reject your reality and substitute my own” all you want, but that’s how things are. Not rejecting your reality at all. I accept that that may very well be Schwarber's perceived value. I just disagree with that valuation.
  8. Descalso has a lower wOBA than Macias' legendary 2005.
  9. Going to great lengths to avoid Descalso. Just be done with it.
  10. This seems like a good time and place to go on record in support of Schwarber. He had a 3 WAR year last year at 25, is only now getting consistent PAs vs. LHP (he's improved every year) and I think he has another level coming. Just my opinion.
  11. Maddon keeps trying to get Descalso going by starting him against the worst opposing pitchers, so his line is that much more amazing.
  12. Garpax will do something like LaVine, #7 and another 1st to NO for #4.
  13. This is even more amazing when you consider that he woke up on May 1st with a line of .263 .349 .408 Numbers since (65 PA) .107 .203 .143 For reference, Yu Darvish's career slugging is .169
  14. Descalso watch: Since the 19th of April (85 PA) Daniel has an OBP% of .190, a wOBA of .177 and a wRC+ of 3. That's about as bad as it gets.
  15. Dear lord, I just looked up Descalso's last month (76 PA). A robust .186 wOBA and a wRC+ of 10.
  16. Of the 17 highest wOBA in the NL, 5 of them are Cubs. That's pretty a pretty ridiculous ~30%. Only one trending downward is Heyward, who has 3 xbh in his past 21 games.
  17. Schwarber has less than 200 career PAs against lefties. I guess that closes the book. The funniest thing to me is that he had a .352 OBP against them last year, so he was showing considerable improvement.
  18. I think they're hoping that when they accidentally get something right, they can parlay it into a real gig.
  19. Eh he's 25, he's had 250 career PAs against lefties, and this year he had a .350 OBP against them. I'm not sure he's a lost cause.
  20. I really hate the idea of trading Schwarber. I feel like he's going to put up some monster seasons, and we aren't going to get a fair return.
  21. I remember it doing that during the lean years when Brenly said something to the effect of, "I can't believe this stupid horsefeathers " when referring to the team.
