  1. As tempting and cathartic as it would be to blow it all up and sell, I'm going to go ahead and advocate being a buyer. We don't have any prospects that I would consider real "can't miss" guys. Maybe Pie and Veal, but that still leaves plenty of depth with which to deal. Our division sucks, and the NL isn't much better. St Louis proved last year that if you can get into the playoffs, anything is possible. I'll take that chance and be a buyer, knowing that all we have to do is be the tallest midget in the NL Central, and then take my chances in the playoffs against a pretty average NL.
  2. If we're trading Angel Guzman, it had better be in a package for someone a hell of a lot better than Chad Cordero.
  3. I'm going to go out on a crazy limb and suggest that if Orlando lets him go the Bulls should go hard after Darko.
  4. If the reports of Hancock refusing a taxi at the restaurant are true, then that alone should be sufficient grounds for dismissal of that part of the lawsuit. The restaurant did it's duty, Hancock refused. They can't force him into a cab. As far as suing the tow truck and the driver, there's no legal justification for that suit. If the driver hadn't called a tow truck and had abandoned his vehicle, that would be different, but the driver took the necessary steps to protect his property and the property of others from damage the instant he called for a tow.
  5. Trading Hinrich makes you a worse team than trading Gordon does. That's the guard I would trade. trading your leading scorer is always a great idea Trading your best defender and best guard isn't a great idea either. Gordon's big thing is his scoring, but if he's dealt for an inside scorer it evens out. I'd rather have interior scoring help at the expense of Gordon that weaken our perimiter defense by dealing Hinrich, to say nothing of his ability to run the offense. Hinrich is a player similar to Chauncey Billups. Similar stats, similar importance to the team. Without Hinrich, players like Bryant and Wade would absolutely kill the Bulls. I am not really high on trading either guy, but if I had to get rid of one it would be Gordon. He has too many flaws in his game compared to Hinrich.

  7. Milan sucks. Can't stand them, and that first goal shouldn't have counted.
  8. Hmm.... Hmm....what??? I am sick of these spoiled athletes who act like they are above the law, it is completely out of control! And if people are trying to take my comments to be racist or whatever, it's not meant to be. I might be a little country, but I have a white neighbor that acts the same way and I want to smack the stupid out of him as well, so "these people" was not meant soley towards black people like I think some of you took it. To the person who said it doesn't have anything to do with hip-hop, I meant that the image that is portrayed by a lot of main stream hip hop artists is very similar to the attitudes of a lot of the athletes that I am sick of, certainly not all, but quite a few. Sorry if my views dont match a lot of yours, but I could really care less if I am PC and I am sick of athletes such as Mr. Dukes. Hip hop has nothing to do with any athletes behavior. Country music is the most popular form of music in the world. It stands to reason there's a huge number of athletes that listen and enjoy country music. They may drive trucks, wear cowboy hats, drink whiskey like water, etc. Should we blame Kenny Chesney when someone like Josh Hancock drives drunk and gets killed? Lots of drinking in country songs, after all. Or when Brett Myers knocks around his wife? Or when someone kills there husband-I mean, Dixie Chicks wrote a hit song about killing a husband. You can't lump in an entire musical/cultural genre with a small group of reckless, stupid individuals. It's not hip hop culture that causes athletes to act like idiots no more than country music does. It's a deeper issue than that. There are going to be bad people of all walks, just as there are going to be great people of all walks. For every Elijah Dukes, there's a Tim Duncan or Shaquille O'Neal, or Derrek Lee, or Michael Barrett, or Dwayne Wade-someone who's a terrific human being and fantastic role model for whatever culture or background they come from. You may not personally like hip hop, but that doesn't give you the right to damn an entire genre/culture like you're doing.
  9. You cannot compare stats over two seasons. Those are not consecutive starts nor are they consecutive appearences. This is so much like the Rich Hill saga from last year. He's up, he's down, he's in the pen, he's starting, he's in the pen. They haven't given him enough time to go much over 75 pitches. What I'm saying is that he couldn't do it last year, even when he had about 16 consecutive starts. Why was Dusty willing to throw Marmol out there for a ton of pitches but not Guzman? Even Mateo, who Dusty had the quickest hook on, was allowed to throw a lot of pitches in some games, but not Guzman. In the last two months of the season, Dusty ran every starting pitcher into the ground, but Guzman only broke 85 pitches for him once. I find that strange. I would agree this year they haven't given him many chances to go above 75 (although they have given him a little bit of a chance, the last start he made was his 6th in a row, he should be fully stretched out already). I would have liked to see that he proved that he couldn't throw that deep into a game before I sent him down to the bullpen, but apparently the doubt about that (which I fully understand) was enough to make Lou act. If Marshall pitches at least decently, it shouldn't be too bad of a thing for the team-because while Guzman has the stuff to be a decent to good starter, his stuff gets a lot better in the pen with the extra velocity on his fastball. If Marshall is terrible as a starter, then Guzman to the pen is an awful move, because the 5th starter is more important than a reliever. Aside from the fact that Guzman never made 16 starts in a row, you're ignoring the fact that "cramps" is a stupid reason to put someone in the bullpen. It's not elbow soreness, bicep tightness, shoulder fatigue...it's a cramp. It's fixable.
  10. Would Minnesota entertain having 2 top 10 picks, Gordon and Noc/Duhon for Garnett, or is McHale too stupid to realize that they need to blow it up? I guess I just don't see anyone falling to 9 that's going to be a low post scoring player within the next couple years. Hibbert is going back to G'Town. Hawes isn't a back to the basket guy. Horford isn't going to fall, and Noah isn't a scorer. Yi isn't going to fall. Josh McRoberts sucks. I don't see how we trade up. Looking at the draft order as it stands,I can see Noah or Hawes being options at 9. Do either of those 2 address the primary problem with the Bulls? Yeah, Noah's energy is great, but is he a guy who draw double teams? Hawes might be Brad Miller v2, but that's not really a low post guy. Take it from a Pac-10 guy, Hawes has a lot of nice post moves. To me, Noah seems kind of a waste with Tyrus there already. Here's Ford's mock draft: He has Horford falling to 6 and I could easily see all 5 of the guys + B. Wright going ahead of Horford. Not as hard to trade up to 6 from 9. -I agree with you on the redundancy of Noah with Thomas around. -Why would Milwaukee trade down to 9?
  11. What makes you say that? Post scoring is his strength. One example scouting report: I must have read a completely different scouting report. What does that one have as his weaknesses?
  12. And again, it's not Ebola. For Piniella to say "There's nothing we can do" is complete bull. It's a convienient excuse for a stupid move. If the trainers can't figure out how to prevent cramps, they're idiots who shouldn't be trainers for a major league baseball team.

  14. If the Cubs medical staff can't fix a cramping problem, they should be fired. It's cramps. Make sure he takes potassium supplements and drinks water or gatorade between innings. It's not brain surgery, it's basic, high school level athletic training. Seriously, nearly everyone in the organization should be fired. They are the biggest collection of incompetents ever. Seriously. It's cramps. "Nothing we can do"? It's not Ebola. It's bloody cramps.
  15. Perhaps, but I don't think that'd be enough. Why would their price drop? Teams typically get more value in return in off-season trades then middle of the season ones. Maybe not after the Grizz failed to get a top 2 pick. That franchise stinks, and even if they keep Gasol they're going to be bad. If you can get a Gordon plus another top 10 pick, wouldn't that be better than keeping Gasol and drafting 4th just to end up having to shop Pau again in the middle of next season when the team is 15-40?
  16. The Grizzlies wanted Deng for him. Not sure why they'd change their minds and accept Gordon at this point. I also think there's a big gap between Amare and Pau. I honestly can't see the Suns letting him go. Neither do I, which is why I'd look at Gasol again. The Grizzlies should be tempted to have 2 picks in the top 10 in this draft, plus Gordon and Noc/Duhon.
  17. I would give up Deng or Gordon for Stoudemire, maybe even both. He's a 24-year-old superstar. I'm wary of giving up too much to get Garnett, Gasol and especially O'Neal. I could live with trading Gordon for any of them, but it would take more than that to get the salaries to match up, and Gordon would need to agree to sign an extension to up his salary value. Shouldn't be an issue, unless he doesn't like where he's being traded and would rather be a free agent in two years. Wouldn't Gasol be the best fit after Amare? It seems he'd have an easy time fittin ginto the draw and kick kind of offense as far as passing, movement, etc.
  18. $3M. Trading $11M for $13.34M is allowed, but it would hamstring the Bulls ability to keep both Deng and Gordon after the 07-08 season. That's an easy choice to make as far as who to keep, though. The easier choice for me is to not take on an overpaid basket-case like Randolf. Agreed. Do you see us being players for Gasol, O'Neal, Garnett or Stoudemire? I'm not sure we have the salaries to make it work anymore, without PJ's contract. Would you give up Gordon to get one of these 4?

  20. Wind schmind. What was his excuse in 2004 and 2005? OPS barely over .800 for 2 years in one of the best hitters' parks, and he was on the young side of 30 then too. Aramis hasn't had any issues with the wind so far.
  21. It's a damn shame this isn't happening with Sosa in a Cubs uniform.
  22. Kirk is worth more than Randolph. He didn't have a great postseason, but he's one of the best defensive guards in the league and improved in every offensive category. The team would be much worse overall if you traded Kirk for Randolph. I'd rather not give up a guard other than like Duhon, but if you're going to give up a guard, I'd give up Gordon. Yes, he can score, but his scoring output would be replaced by the player you would be aquiring. He's a defensive liability and doesn't handle the ball well. Hinrich is the better overall player.
  23. The Bulls can -- and will, most likely -- use most of that money to sign Nocioni. How does trading $7-8M get you $13.34M in return? The Bulls need to trade at least $10.76M to take back Randolf's contract. And taking on Randolf would make it very difficult for them to extend Deng and Gordon. What does Duhon make? I'm sure the Bulls would include him in any deal. He's superflous on a team with Hinrich, Gordon and Thabo.
  24. HAHAHA Boston and Memphis. If Minnesota or Memphis are smart, they'll deal us Garnett or Gasol and just rebuild completely. Having 2 top 10 picks in this draft would help those teams in a hurry.
