  1. somebody needs to force Jordan Morris to spend all winter dribbling and shooting with only his left foot.
  2. Nelson Valdez has to be the worst finisher in the league right?
  3. That's a red all day long. I have no idea how the AR and red both saw the contact and came to the conclusion that it was only yellow.
  4. Montreal remembering that their defense sucks helped. Two away goals will end up being huge.
  5. ESPN & CONCACAF rigging tournaments for ratings! Sad! Crooked Sunil fired him, yes, but this kind of horsefeathers drives me crazy: This kind of arbitrary, make-or-break referendum should not be the reason anyone in any industry keeps or loses their job. The manager in charge of any employee should be able to know whether or not they are employing the right person regardless of individual results. Failure to see and move on the big picture in a timely fashion is what sets programs/initiatives/companies/governments back for years and sometimes generations. There's a point where if you're putting an arbitrary metric like "not losing to T&T" as the make or break point, you have to step back and realize that the fact you have a make or break point like that is proof enough that the situation has gone bad. I also found the line about Flynn and Gulati not deciding to fire him until Sunday night interesting. Had he shut his mouth and not popped off about how dumb the fanbase is for criticizing him (the 4th time he's done that at least) he'd probably not have been fired at all which is unfathomable to me.
  6. Cameron Carter-Vickers was in camp for these last two games but hasn't been cap-tied yet. Considering he's an English dual national instead of German like so many others have been(Jones, Green, Zelalem) and that he's right on the cusp of playing time at the moment, I don't think Klinsmann getting fired makes a huge difference. I'm not an expert though, so maybe others have more context. Lynden Gooch just got cap-tied this past week, so from a search it looks like the next best option that isn't cap-tied would be Mexican dual national defender Villafana? Again, I'm not the most knowledgeable at this world so maybe there's others I'm missing. CCV and Tillman are the two remaining good prospects that aren't cap tied but not having a tire fire of a NT is probably as important a selling point to these guys than simply Jurgen being the coach. If Tim Chandler and Aron Johansson want to protest the firing by retiring from international play, though, I would reluctantly accept that.
  7. Hahahaha klinsmann I didn't even know until I saw my phone hahahahaha. Seriously the first bit of good news in like 2 weeks. I hope he was fired in the most humiliating way possible
  8. Man Leicester are so screwed in the league. They probably should have invested more money in improving their defense instead of buying two strikers and a winger. When they sold Kante they should have sold Mahrez as well. Gray is a really good player and should be playing every week. Take the Mahrez money and buy a good CB as it was always unlikely that Morgan and Huth replicate that success.
  9. Yeah.... ...sigh.
  10. Jurgen isn't going to that state dinner. It starts in like 30 minutes and he's still in NY. ETA: unless i'm just completely wrong.
  11. JK to meet with Sunil and Co. today. PLEASE FIRE
  12. I'll be extremely surprised if someone fires Gulati's ass too. House needs to be cleaned. I thought Gulati has an elected position? Or am I misremembering? It's elected. Nobody serious has run against him in years; that should probably change. Dan Flynn could, in theory, ask Sunil to step down, but I don't think that would happen.
  13. What just kills me is when I think about the context that Bob Bradley was fired in (we lose in R16 AET against Ghana because our players couldn't finish chances, we lose a GC final against Mexico 4-2 in a game where our starting RB goes out hurt and we hit a crossbar that would have made it 3-3 with 20 to play), and compare that to Jurgen's tenure: -Lose in R16 AET to Belgium because we didn't finish chances (Wondo, Clint), and blew a lead with less than a minute against Portugal on a counter -Lose a GC semifinal against Jamaica in what was one of the worst performances in memory to that point. -Lose a CCAF playoff against Mexico 3-2 in a game where you got outplayed and had a player quit on you late -Have your entire team play like they didn't care about anything 3 days later -Lose 2-1 at home to Mexico because you spent the first 25 minutes of the game in a formation you chose not to try during the useless friendlies prior. -Lose 4-0 against a CRC that not only isn't all that great, but spent the majority of the game in 2nd gear! -Oh, also, you failed to qualify for the Olympics twice. How is the former a fireable offense when you compare it to the tire fire of failure that is the latter?
  14. I will be extremely surprised if Gulati does the smart thing and fires him.
  15. Schoen and Rongen have been essentially tearing Jurgen apart the entire game and it's been a delight
  16. I hope CRC hang 3 more on us if it means we have a. Ew coach by March
  17. Pfft this guy took out one of the two good players on the field and put in a Party Posse member
  18. The worst part of this is that Jurgen learned nothing from his mistakes on Friday
  19. Jones looks like a corpse and I'm pretty sure Brooks is playing drunk.
  20. We're in the 3-5-2 when we have the ball. With CRC not having a striker on the field I guess it makes sense. Guzan has made 2 very good saves already
  21. John Brooks needs to realize that Central American opposition is going to try and wind him up
  22. Well, when an already polarizing guy goes ahead and publicly affirms his support for the lunatic that just got elected in a diverse locker-room, I'm not shocked that the locker room at large is done with the guy.
  23. Is there anything to him other than the jersey incident, which sounds like something that would have been a deleted scene from Major League II? I know he's not thrilled with the direction of the team, but it's hard to blame him for that. There was also his hysterical reaction to the Drake LaRoche thing. Sale is a jackass. I'd rather not root for a jackass.
  24. Man the NFL is full of horsefeathers
  25. Football announcers, please don't normalize the protofacists' catchphrase.
