And instead of people praising him for gutting out a halfway decent performance, you'll have them bitching about how he should have come out. Yeah I know. It's one thing though if we have a backup QB that can't do anything. But the drop off, if any, wasn't going to be much. Cutler was cleared, so I have no issue with him starting the game. And he looked fine in the first half, until the very end, when Trestman's play calling left him doing far too much nonsense, and left him open on being hit. And then in the second half, I feel like I can count on one hand the number of dropbacks where he wasn't hit. Trestman's play calling should have protected his QB from some of that. And the running game being a festival of suck contributed, since I kind of doubt the plan was for him to throw the ball 40 times.
