  1. 53. Anna Benson says she will sleep with posters at NSBB if the Cubs win the WS.
  2. 68. Dusty learned so much from the multitude of mistakes he made last year.
  3. 77. The Cardinals and Astros will be worse this year, making the Cubs look better.
  4. Albert Bell
  5. I don't think that Marquis would listen to any pitching coach.
  6. The Hawk would say "He Gone!!!!" Happy days are here again.....
  7. nssb just seems a little less fun now.
  8. Harry Carey, Steve Stone and WGN TV.
  9. One of the biggest differences between the Cards and Cubs is at the top: Manager. The teams would have been much closer this year if the Cubs had at least an adequate manager.
  10. What's the difference between a Yankee and a Quickee? With a Yankee, you're by your self. :D
  11. I heard the Yankees have hired race car driver, Dick Trickle, to drive Wang and the Big Unit to the games.
  12. Does anyone know the Cubs season batting average with RISP? It has got to be abolsutely awful!
  13. I was watching the Cubs-Cardinal game on Fox Sports net the other day and the Cardinal announcers made a reference to some article in which Patterson was supposed to have said that the Cubs had NOT tried to get him to change his hitting approach before he was sent down to the minors. The announcers further said that Dusty had seen the article and was furious. Has anyone seen this article? Also, what is the chance of Cory finishing the season batting above .220? I haven't seen consistent improvement.
  14. If there is a way to mis use his personnel, Dusty will find it. Examples include Reminger pitching to left hand batters, Walker not batting against left handers and low, low, low OBP batters at the top of the line up. Does Dusty ever, ever, ever look up and use statistics to any advantage. Any manager's responsibility is to put his players in the spots to where they will have the best chance of success. Often, when the Cubs did win, it seemed to be in spite of the manager rather than due to the correct moves.
  15. I just became an "everyday player" with my 25th post. Just call me Nefti. On second thought never mind.
  16. Personally I thought the whole season was horrible, except for about a week in June (I think it was June anyway). Agreed.
  17. Finally, a Dusty post game comment that I can agree with, "The month of August has been horrible."
  18. Even if Cedeno goes 5-5 with 5 homers, he still won't get the majority of the playing time at short. Dude. Cedeno didn't save us in April.
  19. Stealing bases, hitting behind runners to move them up and a sac fly. Are those things allowed?
  20. That didn't take long for the Marlins to try. You really called that one.
  21. I wouldn't fear for the safety of fans on the first base side because of Nomar's wild throws. After all, the ball loses signifigant momentum each time it bounces. That made me laugh out loud. :D
  22. If they trade for Giles, they'd still have to re-sign him at the end of the year. He'd only be a rental for the remainder of the season. The Cards have a history of trading for players who were to be free agents and then signing them to a new contract. Rolen for one and maybe McGuire and Edmonds, I can't remember for sure.
  23. What do you think Dusty told Corey when he was called over?
  24. I like that they play a lot of day games.
  25. Because they're the Cubs. There is a reason that this team hasn't even lucked into 1 World Series win in the last 97 years. It's because when there is a common sense decision to be made, the Cubs do just the opposite. It worked for Costanza though. "If every instinct you have is wrong, then the opposite would have to be right." I wonder what a game managed by Dusty would look like if he "did the opposite."
