  1. Glad to see Cabrera in the rotation. Not a bad outing for Antigua. Hernandez looking good with 5 shutout so far in Boise. I'm sure he'll once again tire in the 6th and end up with an average outing. If you are glad to see Cabrera in the rotation its only cause you've never seen him pitch in person...he fits in best following Archer for 2-3 innings.
  2. We are changing up the rotation this week. Mark Riggins is here as well. Sat: Cabrera Sun: Archer Mon: Shafer Tue: Bristow Wed: Bibens Dirkx Thu: Antigua not sure how long we will go six men though with the amount of pitches Cabby and Archer throw in limited innings are bullpen will be pretty taxed this series, especially if Shafer only goes 2-3 innings again...
  3. Tony is 3rd with . Anthony Gose in the South Atlantic League has 62 and Dee Gordon (Tom Flash Gordon's 19 year old son) has 61 here in the Midwest League for Great Lakes (LA Dodgers). Eric Young Jr has 54.
  4. I like that the judge involved working towards at GED. I personally believe all the players should do that not just in the Cubs system but all systems if they didn't obtain the equivalent in their native country. Its amazing how little some of these guys can communicate. Some can't even participate in autograph signings or community events because of their struggles with the english language. And I know its kind of comparing Apples to Oranges, but isn't this the exact same sentence Dante Stallworth got for his DUI when someone died?
  5. Bristow Archer/Cabrera Shafer Bibens-Dirkx Beliveau goes to the bullpen with the addition of Antigua. He is our LH long guy now with Hatley as the RH long guy. Hey, in your gut instinct, do you believe Beliveau can be a starter in the bigs? I think he's a good LOOGY in the making, but that's me, and it's also really early. If this was directed to me, then I think he is a reliever at the top levels. He throws hard for a lefty, isnt crafty like Papelbon and if he can not walk people then I think he is a great lefty option out of the bullpen in the future. His numbers are drastically better out of the pen this season than as a starter.
  6. Bristow Archer/Cabrera Shafer Bibens-Dirkx Beliveau goes to the bullpen with the addition of Antigua. He is our LH long guy now with Hatley as the RH long guy. Bah, wish Beliveau would get a chance to regularly start. His numbers are much much better out of the bullpen if you look at his starter/reliever splits and having chatted with him a bit I think he prefers it.

  8. Chris Siegfried. Flew out of South Bend this morning. Enjoy.
  9. That one really excites me. Nice, young lefty arm with some starting potential ... He will start Sunday with Bristow moved back to Monday and Archer to Tuesday.
  10. Absolutely and they are giving him every chance here, especially with Lake struggling a bit defensively this season. Good chance to try Lake at 2nd too.
  11. He's looked great so far defensively at 2nd and short. couple diving plays and has shown very good range at both positions. I'll chime in on both guys after I get to see them play a few more games! You can always follow along audio wise through peoriachiefs.com as well. Thanks Nathan
  12. Jackson leading off in CF for us tonight. Tell ya what, I love this lineup: Jackson CF Flaherty 3B Ridling 1B Burke CF LeMahieu SS Rosa DH Brenly C Lake 2B Macias LF
  13. Don't forget the high total for Lake!!! (and he can thank Ridling for that total not being over 30)
  14. Lake!!! (and he can thank Ridling for that total not being over 30)
  15. Josh Harrison getting promoted is way overdue. He deserved to be called up at least a month ago. Agreed but they were working on specific things with Josh. Taking more pitches, playing multiple positions, base-running and being a bit more selective at what pitches he swings at.
  16. 5 double plays hit into by the Chiefs. One by Ramirez in the 1st.
  17. Beliveau starting. Shafer tomorrow. (it was in our website recap from last night but the good folks at Kane County didnt feel like updating it on the MWL page as the home team is obligated to do).
  18. HOw long has that been happening? I know a few people listening right now. PC or Mac?
  19. Macias can though Harrison is the best option and Macias is better in CF. I bet we see some Flaherty at third unless our new guy Fitzgerald can play 3rd. Maybe have Flaherty at 3rd, Lake at SS and Fitzgerald at 2b??
  20. Sorry I meant Peoria because Lake may be in over his head here. He hasn't shown much improvement. Or we can wait for LeMahieu And congrats to both Samson and Barney. Very well deserved for both. Nate played his best ball under Ryno and Barney was very focused on this season when I talked to him at the Cubs Convention in January and its great to see him at Iowa before the AS break.
  21. He needs to get up here. we NEED a shortstop, and now, well ANY offense.
  22. I doubt that it will be. If it is internal, I would guess Cabrera over JB. Beliveau has been struggling with his command quite a bit lately. Not sure who is coming since we don't play on Monday. Has he been struggling with his command? He hasn't walked that many people in June (2 BB in 4 IP yesterday, 1 in 4.2 on 6/21, 1 in 4 on 6/16, 0 in 5.2 on 6/11 and 2 in 4 on 6/6). That's 6 BB in 22.1 June innings (during which time he struck out 33 guys). True but he goes to 3 balls on almost every hitter and didnt throw a first pitch strike yesterday until he 9th guy he faced. Thats why he has always been piggybacked with someone cause he blows through his pitch count in about 3-4 innings

  24. Nice. I wonder who will replace him in Daytona? Will they just keep Craig Muschko in the rotation or will they promote, say, Chris Carpenter from Peoria? I'd like to see Carpenter moved up. He already seemed fairly polished when I saw him earlier in the season, but he's a bit old for Peoria and I'd like to see him somewhere a bit more age-appropriate. He's a lock for my Top 10 if he finishes the season healthy after having pitched 140+ innings. you get your wish.
