  1. even he's had 3 He hit one on June 1st, so since then he's hit 2. hair splitter
  2. I sure love the WGN commercials asking if we remember what baseball was like before HD. unfortunately, I do every time the game is on WGN
  3. I've said it before, I might as well say it again. I sure love the fact that he's exceeding my expectations and getting on base at a good clip, but would it damn kill him to find a gap or line occasionally? 16 XBH for a regular at this point is pretty sad
  4. Where did you see/hear it? I can't find it. they played it on CSN earlier

  6. I finally saw/heard the clip, eagerly anticipating an eruption. I think Lou probably yells more when ordering a sandwich
  7. He can and will if he learns to hit major league pitching. Unfortunately that isn't a "given". He can't learn to hit it in AAA. #-o that would be true if it wasn't false He can learn to hit major league pitching in AAA? :-s He already knows how to hit AAA pitching. ah, I thought you were saying he can't hit AAA pitching
  8. if you're talking about Holliday AND Helton, I'd certainly include Lee in a deal
  9. He can and will if he learns to hit major league pitching. Unfortunately that isn't a "given". He can't learn to hit it in AAA. #-o that would be true if it wasn't false
  10. what are the odds any of those 3 would be considered for a playoff roster?
  11. In terms of W/L last night? It was most certainly unimportant. He didn't factor into the result of the game at all. I said if we're talking about whether Howry will be OK from here out that's definitely in question. I believe that's basically what Rocket just said

  13. If memory serves, Joey Devine was brought up the year he was drafted. Cashner could conceivably be brought up to provide a handful of innings at the end of Sept, but I don't think anybody is counting on a meaningful contribution. is he already on the 40-man? I don't recall him getting a major league contract, so I doubt it. But Harben probably doesn't have much more time left on the 40 man. Easier solution: Move Chad Fox to the 60-day DL.even easier - release him
  14. every thread you post in somehow ends up weirder than the one before
  15. i think he moved to a splitter that sounds right
  16. I'm pretty sure I read it somewhere on this site, but I recall mention of him abandoning the slider as his out pitch and going to something more effective. I'm not overly optimistic he'll keep up his current pace, but maybe that moves his K rate somewhere between where it was and where it is now.
  17. I can't see how the Pirates would be will to trade Wilson and Bay (McLouth is untouchable) without getting a ton of top prospects plus Cedeno. The Dodgers have been reluctant to pull the trigger on other deals, so I don't know if they would be willing to toss in some top pitching prospects. I would think it would be something like: Dodgers get Wilson (From Pirates) and ???? (from Cubs) Pirates get Marshall & Cedeno (from Cubs) and Kemp (from LA) Cubs get Bay (from Pirates) and Hu (from LA) Also, we get into the "shifting Fukudome to CF controversy" again. I'd think that "????" from the Cubs would have to be pretty good to warrant the Dodgers giving up Kemp and Hu. and I don't think we have one of those
