  1. This will be my first Cubs-Astros game since 2001. That day Richard Hidalgo hit a ball off Farnsworth that still hasn't landed.
  2. Alex Rios is the Sox regular CF, and Andruw played 0 games in CF last year.
  3. Todd Lickliter is still available
  4. If he matches last year's disaster, it's possible. But I still doubt it. Back to back seasons of completely worthless production and then turning 35, they may start thinking about doing something like that. I would think they'd give it one more year after that. But if Jackson really comes on strong, and Colvin surprises to the upside as a role player, maybe they'd take the leap. Either way, they probably would have accounted for the liability of Soriano's contract when negotiating the price they play for the team. Remember, by many accounts it was $50-100m-less than was predicted. I know you're just an average white guy, but 35 is the new 25 which makes me about 26.

  6. As well as pitchers with control who will pitch around a guy. Of course. I tried to keep it simple. My fingers and brain are tired today.
  7. that kid is a beast
  8. The easy answer to your original question and baseball-related question is both. I can offend someone with a brash statement, and that person can also be offended by an innocuous statement. Words and phrases are often quite subjective. In baseball, there are obviously people with a more patient approach and keener command of the strike zone who take walks on close pitches and there are plenty of pitchers with command or control issues that will walk the Neifi Perezes of the world.
  9. Please do not interrupt with facts.
  10. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambler%27s_fallacy I'm sticking with the optimism, fallacy and all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bias_blind_spot http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia
  11. I wonder if he was genuinely surprised that people found that humorous. I thought he was just trying to be funny then he rattled off his other symptoms so matter-of-factly.
  12. Jim Nantz would have a stroke if he followed me around a golf course.
  13. Iowa is not in your conference But Oklahoma is. touche
  14. Not a big deal, just a sign of ignorance. I was pointing out an error, so he could learn and improve. He tried to defend it, I responded. Edit: Mineaswell move on, their are bigger issues well, that was pretty spike full
  15. Iowa is not in your conference
  16. I heard that guy from Notre Dame isn't ever going to give up another run.
  17. Does Davis still have that awesome landing strip as shown in his gameday pic?
  18. I'm surprised the Cubs have put together any offense. I'd think they'd be off balance with the way Davis is easily changing speeds, varying from 79-81 on all of his pitches.
  19. He very well could be. I don't really put a lot of stock in those aside from the guys with 5 or 1. I think his stock has fallen quite a bit because of the way he ended his senior season. Getting kicked off the team probably isn't the best way to finish your HS career.
  20. Is gameday broken, or is Davis literally throwing 1 pitch every 4 minutes?
