  1. and a double. in the same inning. maybe he will become what we all hoped jorge soler would be.
  2. Eloy is going to be everything we wanted Georgie to be and more
  3. I like Montero more than I like Grimm, and I do not like Montero at all
  4. Scissors is lucky he didn't lose his face there
  5. I remember back when the Cubs were the team who made the opposing pitcher throw a ton of pitches
  6. yeah, coghlan did nothing wrong. the ball didn't go anywhere and he didn't run. that's the right decision. Well yeah, in a vacuum a runner on 1B probably shouldn't be going for 2B 99% of the time on that ball in the dirt/where it bounced/ended up, but when the runner on 2B goes for 3B he should've taken off on seeing that. no way. he's watching the ball first, runner at 2B second. he reads the ball ending up by Molina so he probably doesn't give a thought to looking at 2nd. I'm not saying Almora was wrong, but what Coghlan did was right
  7. why are people upset with Coghlan? he ultimately made the right read. this isn't little league where you can just run when the ball is thrown to a different base.
  8. Coomer likely meant swing early as in Rosenthal throws 100
  9. Hard to fault Almora for that, he read the ball was getting by Molina, didn't anticipate it bouncing off the ump's leg right back to him. yeah, i can't blame him. he made the right read, just got really unlucky. what's really frustrating is that almora made the read that resulted in him getting thrown out while coghlan didn't make the same read and stayed put. if coghlan runs the zobrist ties it with a hit; if almora doesn't run then zobrist ties it. oh well, we're up 11.5 games on those sad sacks, who cares if we lost a game really. highly doubtful Zobrist gets a hit if the 1B is playing regular depth instead of holding Coghlan on
  10. I'm going back and forth on it. on one hand it was a good read that the ball was getting by Yadi, but on the other hand you have to make sure it gets to the wall
