Is Dusty to blame for anything that's happened tonight? This game has been about the pitchers (and our hitter's inability to score with RISP). Capuano's quick move prevents the runners from getting much of a lead so it's not like the hit and run is a good idea to stay out of the DP. Maddux has now put this one out of reach at 5-0 Doesn't matter if he did anything bad tonight or not. Bottom line is that someone has to be accountable. It's not any one player's fault that the team blows, but it is Dusty who has seen his team decline from an NLCS team to the worst in baseball in 3 years. The team has quit on him, and he no longer deserves to coach this team. I don't buy the idea that they "quit on him." They may have quit on themselves. Anyway, my response was about tonight's game and most of it was written while the score was 3-0. However, I do agree that a manager is accountable for poor play.
