  1. They must be randoming doing things now. I have MLB EI but I used MLB.TV sporadically last year and I was always blacked out. I have it again this year (at least this month) to compliment my EI and I can view this game. MLB.TV is showing the Comcast telecast (and I live here in Chicago).
  2. why am I not shocked that a Card fan has dental problems? sorry, I couldn't resist. not sure how Miles's 0-7, 1 BB series impressed you so much, though Have you ever seen Ronnie Woo Woo's teeth ;) Miles 0-7 and Pujol's 1-8 weren't highlights of the weekend... Miles has been pretty slick in the field so far, and I think he's going to be a nice #8 hitter. Juan on the other hand is just bad. REAL BAD. I forgot to add that Marshal look like he's ready to be in the bigs. LMAO, good point! If it's any consolation, Pooh's one hit almost gave me a heart attack... I'm surprised that LaRussa is sticking with Encarnacion in the 2 slot. I have a feeling that it wont continue for too much longer or Pujols will suffer DLee's fate of 2005 by leading off most times in the order and having fewer RBI than expected.
  3. People at Cards Talk think Izzy was being booed too. CardsTalk
  4. I think this is a big game for Glendon. He needs to get his act together and the Cubs need to send a message to the Reds (namely, that they're not coming into Wrigley to kill the team's momentum). If the Cubs play their cards right, they might actually be able to open up a lead in the dvision with these games against Cincy, Pitts, and FLA coming up. One game at a time...
  5. There are plenty of people that do understand it. Dusty's an old folksy type of guy. It doesn't surprise me that he uses fishing references. He also likes to talk about hunting and going to his cabin.
  6. Really? A 3-way tie is lonely? Well, the Cubs are precentage points ahead of all the others so technically they are all alone.
  7. I hear ya... Conversely, if the Cubs continue to do well he'll act like he was on the story from the beginning (when actually he's one of the people who picked the Cards to win). It's hilarious. That blog entry has today's date so, apparently, the Sunday Night Game of the Week has changed his impression of things... The Score had Rosenthal on this morning and he also said something to the effect that: he knew all along that the Cubs would be much improved. He said he wasn't specifically enamored with each offseason move but that each move has made them a more well rounded team that will compete in the Central.
  8. You think I didn't? Exactly. There were a lot of groans when he couldn't find the zone too. LOL, I didn't say anything about you watching. I was merely giving my perspective and I still say it sounded like booing to me. It surprised me initially, but considering what transpired the last few days it was almost predictable as the lead decreased.
  9. Yes they boo'd as he came in. Best fans in baseball! Lies. There was groaning after every ball, but there were no boos. I watched the game and it certainly sounded like booing to me.
  10. This piece is from his ESPN Insider Blog: Sounds like he wants to get on board just in case the Cubs are for real... Subscriber Link
  11. I like the deal. I'm glad he's signed because I didn't want that contract drama hanging over the season.
  12. If he becomes a FA the number could be insane. I hope they have settled this extension.
  13. The Score and ESPN AM 1000 are reporting that the Cubs are holding a press conference tomorrow at 10 AM. The team won't confirm that it is about Lee's contract but that's probably the case...
  14. Izzy really bleeped me off last night. Did you see the eye rolling and attitude he displayed? It was certainly a case of closer prima donna, I don't come in for the 8th inning, especially with a guy on base attitude. And I was floored that Rolen wasn't charged an error Ramirez' grounder before the Jones HR. Yes, I noticed it and in reading his quotes, I got the feeling he wasn't really happy about coming into that situation in the 8th. His comment about" I pitch when I'm told to but I hadn't pitched in a few days" sounds like he's looking for an excuse but not really willing to say anything directly...
  15. Yeah, I just had to get in on that "100 wins" comment. It won't happen.
  16. That's so true. I get emabarassed sometimes by how geeked up some of us get when the Cards loose (or get swept). All I can say is the phrase "Act like you've been there before" applies here. For example of Saturday: who was that dude in the first row right behind home plate who jumped up and down like a squeeling little girl at a Backstreet Boys concert every time the Cubs hit a home run? He looked like a complete ninny. I'm not saying we all need to be robots, but sometimes I think anyone wearing Cubs blue needs to be issued a chill pill whenever we beat the Cards. He was giving an excuse/comment that a Cards fan might use...
  17. Haha, that's priceless.
  18. So, what exactly are you saying here? :eyeroll:
  19. Really, all I see is AI talking about the whipping he put on the Bulls. It wasn't terribly long. Was just saying how they played very good baseball all weekend, that Cedeno had a really good day, that Barrett has been the hero for a couple of days now, and how hopefully today will get Jones started. Thanks! Comcast Sportsnet replays Sportsnite to death so I'll see again aleast 45 times. :D
