  1. Jacque is looking extremely pathetic
  2. Must not be because the crowd has been wild.
  3. I don't know if anyone has already mentioned it but, on days like this, I hate the fact that the Cubs allow their ushers to wear red.
  4. That is the rotation for the series. :D
  5. I just heard Dusty's interview on Comcast Sports Net. He said specifically that Neifi is starting at 2B because they need his defense up the middle with Greg starting. So, he didn't take into consideration Walker's higher BA against Suppan, the move is strictly defense-oriented. If he wants to start Neifi he should always bat him low in the order. Since that's not going to happen, I hope Neifi shocks us with a good defensive and offensive game. Edit:UMFan you beat me to it.
  6. What direction? In from left/left-center. If it's last year's team, we don't have a chance of winning. Well, not really, last year's team beat the cards more than they lost to them... The wind blowing in has to be an advantage for Maddux. Hopefully, the Cubs get on base and take care of their own business against Soupcan. He's talking about the wind blowing in, whenver it's blowing in the Cubs still try to jack every pitch out of the park. Yeah, I know which is why I added the part about the Cubs getting on base... Heck, they were below .500 at home last year. They have to start playing better there.
  7. Good job, thanks for finding the rule.

  9. It hurt nothing. The Cubs were losing when that play happened, and the Cubs lost even if he nails Freel for leaning too far. It's a play that has split second decisions. If Cedeno winces because Freel doesn't "obviously" head back to 3rd, the runner will be safe at 1st and then people will rail him for that. It's a situation where speed helped Cincinnati score that run. It's going to happen from time to time. I don't look at it as a rookie mistake in the slightest. A veteran could have allowed that to happen just as easily. I disagree. A run scored. Just because the Cubs lost this game doesn't mean a similar situtation won't come up in the future. Now he knows guys will try to run after a quick look.
  10. In actuality, it didn't hurt the team since the Cubs didn't score in the 9th. Ken It hurt from the standpoint that a run scored.
  11. I'm glad Ronny learned something today. It hurt the team but it's only the 2nd game. They'll need him to be headsup in the future.
  12. He was injured. He and Kerry had the same surgery so I'm going to assume the problem has been corrected. I expect decent pitching from both when they return. Miller had the same problem as Borowski. Both decided to rest instead of surgery. With the rest of the offseason Miller came back and was pretty bad with a lot of lost velocity. If the surgery has helped him..well that remains to be seen. Borowski is pitching nicely now. Anyway, I'm counting on Miller, Wood, and Prior returing to form. Heck, they don't even have to be dominating just go 6 and limit the runs. The bullpen can't keep coming into the game after 4 innings.
  13. Exactly, Rusch only (lol) gave up 4 runs so they were still in the game.
  14. I'm not too worried about the Cubs offense. So far, they can score runs. The starting and middle relief (Williams) is sketchy at best.

  16. Some decent pitching and the Cubs are 2-0
  17. It all starts with Ronny not holding him at 3B!
  18. Don't blame Cedeno. Freel shouldn't have been at third in the first place. Of course this probably means Neifi starts on Friday. That was on Ronny. You have to pickup your teammates.
  19. Cedeno didn't look him back long enough.
