  1. I think it's a good time for him to get the kinks out. I don't. I still have fantasies about winning this game.
  2. Oh Noes, I see Aardsma. He better throw strikes this time!
  3. Maybe he's making up for bunting the first pitch of the game when everyone was expecting him to do so. I'd like to see the Cubs deal Pierre, Williams, Jones, Perez, Wiiliamson and Wood when he's off the DL in June. My goodness, It's April 21st
  4. He said, on the Mike North Morning Show, that other than Spring Training, he had not played first base.
  5. uh...if that's true...wow. Silvy and Carm talked about it and replayed the clip. Gammons said it but I don't know if DLee said that to him. Although, it would seem crass for him to make it up.
  6. If that is how things shake out then I have to ask why Hairston is even on the team. That's just Bruce's opinion. Stone suggested that Walker play 1B and Haiston 2B. No doubt Dusty is contemplating all of these options as I type. What happens when you stop typing? LOL, the lineup was complete.
  7. Peter Gammons was on ESPN 1000 this morning talking about a discussion he had with DLee during the Cardinals' series at Wrigley. For those that saw Sunday Night Baseball, you know part of the story... I didn't hear it live this morning but apparently, Gammons said that he asked Derrek why he would sign so soon when the Yankees and Red Sox might be very willing to offer him several million dollars more than the Cubs. Lee replied; "I don't want to play anywhere else besides, how do you know that I won't break my wrist in two weeks?" That's wierd.

  9. Really? I mean...I like Murton a lot too, but I think the chances of him being as good as Cabrera are low enough that the trade would definitely be do-able. Stats so far for this season... Cabrera AVG .346 | HR 3 | RBI 11 | OBP .443 | SLG .635 Murton AVG .280 | HR 2 | RBI 9 | OBP .345 | SLG .480 I hear what you're saying but I would work to presuade them against taking him. Anyway, in this example, it was suggested that they would only want one of the three (Murton, Williams, and Marshall). I'm saying I'd be willing to part with the other two to keep Matt. Most likely, they would insist on one ML player and a number of prospects. Or maybe I'm wrong and perhaps the reported rift between Cabrera and Giaradi makes it easier to get him than would be normally expected. I doubt it. LOL
  10. Forgot about Eric Hinske. He'd be an OK pickup. Miggy would be a great pickup, obviously, but I would think the Cubs would have to give up at least 1 of their current ML regulars to make that happen....namely, Murton, Marshall, or Williams. I'd give up any of those 3...I'd like to keep Murton, but if that's what it took... I wouldn't give up Murton but they could have both Williams and Marshall as long as the trade took place close to the return of W/P/M.
  11. Stone's comments: Hairston at 2B and Walker at 1B is ideal depending on the pitcher. Hee Sop Choi is not the answer ("if Hee Sop Choi is the answer I don't know the question")   Henski's salary makes him someone the team wants to move. Call FL about Cabrera to find out his status. Miggy can play LF or any other spot when Lee returns. Mike Sweeny or Mientkiewicz may be available. Sweeny's being paid 25% of the team's salary. They need pitching. Craig Wilson is a possibility Hendry would have to pay 150% to get 100%. The solution now is to bring someone up (Restovich). Aramis has to step up and perform like the hitter he's capable of being
  12. Stone's on right now.
  13. See the quote? What don't you understand about the part that reads "get through 5 innings in under 100 pitches"? I never said he couldn't get out of the 5th inning but that he has a high pitch count through 5 innings. I see it and the implication was that neither could go deep into games. As I said earlier, it isn't as big of a concern because the Cubs have a better bullpen than they've had in recent history.
  14. It sounds like a panic move. DLee isn't out for the season. Where's Mark going to play when he returns?
