  1. how about rbi's and runs scored, don't they count. despite what many of you may believe, many baseball people such as santo and stone have stated on many occasions, these are the two things that count, how many runs have you scored and driven in. by the way i am not a neifi supporter. i just don't like seeing a player who i feel is playing quite well both offensively and defensively treated like he is a cancer on the team and the cause of all the problems. he is far from being one of the problems on this team. and by the way for you macias haters . 250 isn't to bad for a pinch hitter.
  2. are you sure it is dusty who is the idiot?
  3. this is ridiculous, perez was signed as a back up ss and has played quite well. saying he is one of the worse hitters in baseball is a thing of stupidity, compare his stats with some of the other shortstops in baseball and maybe some of you will realize how ridiculous you are. some of you never met a prospect you didn't love. like steve stone said on the score a couple of nites ago. a prospect is just that a prospect or a suspect and you trade prospects any day for a proven player. i read this board a lot and it seems have of the posters are l5 yeearold kids
  4. did you forget that wood and prior were injured at the beginning of the year and dusty needed a starter or are you going to tell me mitre would have been the answer, oh yeah you probably would after all he is one of our prospects and everyone knows prospects must play
  5. anyone blaming baker for losing this game, i hope not, if a manager has a bullpen like he has he can only pray that someone will get someone out. it makes no difference who he uses it is sa crapshoot and one dusty will probably lose. most of the time one is as bad as the other. if people think a manager can win with a bullpen like that they are dellusional. last nite mitre comes in first pitch, home run. today wuertz l inning, home run etc etc. blame baker if you like but better put the blame where it belongs on the gm.
  6. grieve is not a good outfielder., he is terrible, the only one who might be worse is dubois. if grieve is such a wonderful player why has he been dumped so many times. he was nearly booded out of milwaukee because of his defense.
  7. firing baker would not solve anything unless a lot of other changes took place. this team has two, count em two hitters. they lack a lead off man unless you count hariston which i'm not sure i do. the so called stength because of injuries or some other reason is preforming poorly. i would rather see hendry go, after all he put this team together. it is hendry who stated in the tribune he wanted veterans for the bench, not baker. today he played the 3 board favorites, combined 0 for ll and a misplayed fly ball.these players may not be the answer either. hendry cannot continue to sit on his hands and watch the team crumble around him. either trade one of your big three pitchers for a top hitter and bring up hill, nolasco, etc. other teams do it. what about murton, pie sing mcghee or theriot. they might perform as well as many of our other players. it is time to find out. if you get rid of baker and continue with the same players i feel their will be no improvement and maybe even worse performances since the players apparently like baker.
  8. did you watch grieve with the brewers last year. that should answer your questions about his ability.
  9. no i'm not referring to putting macias second in the line up, merely askimg the person who thinks dubois was a better choice as a pinch hitter against a right handed pitcher to check both players stats as a pinch hitter
  10. you guys are stat freaks, check the record who has the best stats as a pinch hitter and remember a right hander was pitching
