When do you think the Cubs are gonna handle this? If he hits the FA market, he'll have ALOT of teams wanting his services. I believe his contract ends after the 2006 season.

I find it funny how people only throw in Giles into their lineup, and think that gives us a chance to win a WS. Stupid idea. IF we suffer just one injury, its a setback. Thats why I endorse HoopsCubs ideas. We need 2-3 changes on this team. 1 pitching change. 2 outfield changes. Boom.

You'll never see Matsui go to the plate trying to swing hard for the fences. The guy always makes solid contact someplace. With RISP, hes gold. He'll hit homers sure, but its a result of his contact, not his hard pre-planned swinging ala Sosa/Burnitz.

I don't mind a Kirk pickup. Sure as hell beats the 4 and 5 guys we have now. You bring more experience to the staff, even though he may not be at his best, he could payoff later. -
Toronto is NOT gonna let Hudson go. They're increasing payroll as we speak, and fully plan on fielding a high caliber team for seasons to come. Management has made that stand.

Well Matsui seems to be a FA at the end of this season. I just don't want to see another power hitter on this team. Nobody's on base as it is, and nobody can take a walk as it is. This team needs a Giles, or a Matsui. Every Yankees game I watch, Matsui does something that stands out. He walks alot, he takes alot of pitches, and in clutch game winning situations he comes through.

We NEED Burnett and we NEED Matsui. If theres a little chance of getting Matsui, we gotta do it. This team just needs a big time FA, that is a contact/average hitter. I don't care about homers/power so much. I just want a clutch machine.

Do whatever it takes to get Matsui, and a bonafide Starting Pitcher. The rotation is missing Wood, and at this point he's not reliable. I'd say Maddux is our number 5 starter, and if we bring in a bonafide horse slotted third or fourth in the rotation, we make the playoffs.

This is why us Cubs fans are negative. All optimistic Cubs fans, are fans of losing. This franchise continues to lose, and you HAVE TO BOO and make noise so things get changed.
