I was in Hawaii, and I saw Dave Kingman! I was staying at the JW Marriot, (where the NFL players stay for the Pro Bowl) and I was eating breakfast at the buffet. Wearing my Cubs hat, and Prior shirt, the man in a table next to me says "Nice hat." I turn around and I see an aged Dave Kingman smiling, with his 12 year old looking son right there with him. I was a little floored, but I began talking with him about the Cubs, and the season of 2004, and the current season. He was shocked to see that I knew about his career in detail. He said he understood the fans and how frustrated they are. He mentioned that he feels we have a great contending team, and that he'd love for us to win a WS. He said he loved Chicago, and he loves Cub fans. We talked for about 10 minutes, then I let him and his son get back to breakfast, I didn't want to overdo my fandom. Just wanted to share that experience, maybe some of you might find it cool. :)
