  1. I am hoping they show some creativity in losing today. What giving up 8 homeruns, and hitting none isn't creative enough? It's a nice effort, but it's not up to the allowing-two-runs-to-score-on-a-sac-fly level yet.
  2. To be fair, I'll take Womack playing for Neifi any day (even though that isn't the case today). Womack's career OBP: .317. Neifi: .299. Neifi plays better defense. Pick your poison. Hopefully, the Cubs will start both so there's no need to choose.
  3. It is at least excitement. Something that has been sorely lacking for weeks! Not real confident about the extra innings. Haven't we went through about the entire bullpen by now? Nope. It's hard to burn through a 7-man pen.

  5. Your 2007 starting 2B, Tony Womack!
  6. Good thing Dusty took Murton out of the game earlier instead of Neifi.
  7. So who's on the hook for the loss?
  8. Welcome to the board, Jim! http://static.flickr.com/24/59756144_8c5777e40f_o.jpg
  9. A couple hours of comraderie that can never be replaced.
  10. LOL. Says a lot about the Cubs' clutch hitting. Andy MacPhail blames their struggles on clutch hitting. As he pointed out recently, they're last in the league. Of course, he didn't mention that their overall OBP and SLG is last in the league, too, and that their team OBP with runners in scoring position is actually slightly higher than their overall OBP.
  11. Or, most of us can't get inspired to post when the team is this pathetic. It doesn't mean we've stopped watching the games (or reading posts). I understand that we all deal with grief in different ways.
  12. Prior will save us. http://static.flickr.com/71/154580911_3623a2f28d.jpg
  13. If only he had adjusted his jacque just one more time, he might have sent the ball into the bleachers.
  14. Dear Neifi: A bunt would surprise the opposition here. Sincerely, cheap
  15. Mabry gives the ball a ride 360 ft to center.
  16. Lack of posts in this thread = most NSBBers are bandWGNers and not true fans.
  17. Couldn't you have edited your joke to jibe with Fred's edited post? I took a knee on a wild ____. A winner would know how to adapt.
  18. 12 runs will not win this game today. Don't worry, folks.
  19. Write him and tell him. If Hendry has a standard Tribune Company email address, his address would be: jhendry@tribune.com
  20. Sac bunt here? What are the pros and cons? Discuss.
