I realize Perez won a Gold Glove in Colorado, but I don't think of him as a very good defensive infielder any longer. He has fairly sure hands, but very limited range. I saw him make 2 errors in a game against the Nationals this season and there were some balls hit in his direction that Cedeno was getting to earlier in the game before Neifi moved over to short as a "late inning defensive move". I thought one of the many reasons Kansas City got rid of him was that his fielding range had gone down drastically from his Colorado days. I know Perez has this "Gold Glove" reputation, but I just don't see it anymore. Seems to me that Cedeno can field the position better than Perez since he can cover a lot more ground.
