  1. Congrats to Fuld for finally pulling through in this game.
  2. Nice to see CF Colvin 2 for 2 with a single, a double and a walk so far for Tenn. Holiman's 2 for 2 offensively and going strong through 7. Hopefully someone can pull through for them.
  3. Well he has average and speed thats for sure
  4. He became a topping for one of Hendry's bacon cheeseburgers. :D Seriously, it looks like he's out of baseball. He doesn't show up on MiLB.com. http://cubs.scout.com/2/515489.html and http://travelerocity.blogs.com/travelerocity/2007/05/where_have_you_.html Don't see him playing anywhere this year though.
  5. Part of the problem is the Zambrano man love for Koyie Hill
  6. YAY BREW CREW LOSES!!!!!!
  7. Koyie Hill matched his season high in HRs July 16th hitting his 2nd one all season. Meanwhile in Colorado, Soto has blasted 2 HRs the past 2 days for the Iowa Cubs.
  8. Reds are weird. They have relief pitchers named Todd Coffey Bean and Jon Cunninglus
  9. Then where is Coats going to play? Are him and Kroeger going to platoon in LF? They're both lefties though. Moore's also a lefty and Craig's a switch hitter.
  10. His name just showed up on the I-Cubs roster, so I think we have a winner. I assume he'll be replacing Nelson at 3rd? Simokaitis is listed on Iowa's roster as well. Replacing Rojas at SS? Nice. It's not like the I-Cubs need anymore help offensively lol. Now they should be able to give the big league club a run for their money.
  11. Cubs Prospect HRs hit yesterday: Boise SS Dylan Johnston - 2 for 4, HR (Walk-off), RBI, R, BB, SO (2 HR in 32 G) Daytona 1B Brian Dopirak - 1 for 2, 1 "Dope-Slap!", 2 RBI, R (12 HR in 61 G) Iowa 1B Josh Kroeger - 2 for 4, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 2 R, 2 BB (9 HR in 33 G) RF Matt Murton - 4 for 6, 2B, HR, 6 RBI, 3 R, SO (6 HR in 38 G) C Geovany Soto - 3 for 5, 3B, HR, 2 RBI, 3 R (14 HR in 75 G) That's 2 straight games Soto's gone deep. WTF Hendry. Yesterday's Speed Demons: Boise 2B Tony Thomas - 0 for 2, 2 BB, SO, 2 SB (6 SB in 9 G) Iowa CF Felix Pie - 4 for 6, 3B, 3 R, SB (8 SB in 45 G)
  12. Soto & Nelson hit HRs, 17-4 Iowa in the 7th.
  13. Iowa has batted around in the 4th. Murton just belted a Grand Slam. 15-0. He's 4 for 4 with 6 RBIs right now.
  14. completely wrong Something is wrong with FirstInning.com's stats then...and this entire thread: http://firstinning.com/players/Eric-Patterson-a vs http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?n=Eric%20Patterson&pos=2B&sid=milb&t=p_pbp&pid=452221
  15. Cedric & Leon Johnson...who is naming these kids?
  16. Despite the small sample size, judging by those OPS numbers we will tear Wainright a new one. Which of course means we will get shut out today.
  17. Leon Johnson, now there's a guy who jumped from Rookie league to A ball in Peoria without any issues. Since he got promoted July 18th he's hitting at a .333/.444/.476 clip (7 for 21) along with 2 SB. I have high hopes for the guy and he is rising fast in the Cubs system. I've never met a white guy named Leon before. And with that much speed, I thought he was black before I just did a google search and saw his pic! http://peoriachiefs.com.ismmedia.com/ISM3/thumbcache/3f2e76cfeabdf836b855e6bd4048f702.200.jpg Hardman on the other hand has gone 2 for 21 .095/.095/.095 his last 5 in Peoria since being promoted. No SB yet.
  18. Well my original CS stats from FirstInning.com were flawed, but this is still a good topic. Other than Pie, what up and coming speed demons do we have on the rise in the Cubs minor league system?
  19. That sounds like the greatest thing ever
  20. The only HR hit in the Cubs system yesterday was: Iowa C Geovany Soto: 1 for 3, HR, 2 BB, 4 RBI, R
  21. Update on 12th rounder Ryan Acosta: http://www.pntonline.com/news/acosta_11087___article.html/portales_cubs.html
  22. Cedeno = overhyped He's had 1 XBH his last 10 games!
  23. Cubs Prospect HRs: Tenn 1B Matt Craig - 3 for 4, HR, BB, 2 RBI, R
